Pedophile Tracking Pulaski County Man Arrested

A Pulaski County man is behind bars, charged with a sex crime after he allegedly sent explicit texts to a child.

It’s something parents increasingly need to worry about as more children are using cell phones. The Pulaski County Sheriff says the parents did the right thing reporting what happened to police.

Investigators arrested Gregory E. White, 26, of Pulaski County for allegedly sending a text message of his genitals and other explicit messages to a 12-year-old girl.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Deputies say the inappropriate texts were sent to the girl’s phone over a two day period in December. Investigators say the girl’s father discovered the texts and brought the phone to authorities, which led to White’s arrest. We’re told White lived on Cherry Grove Road and knew the victim.

“We encourage parents today to keep a close eye and have an open communication with their children…parents need to be involved, and this parent, thank goodness was,” says Sheriff Todd Wood with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect’s mother told investigators he had cancer and had developed a tumor that apparently damaged his brain. If found guilty, the charge of using electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities could carry a one to five year sentence.

White is lodged at the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.

Missing Person Dylan Redwine of Colorado Still Missing

It was an incredible show of support for Dylan Redwine and his family Thursday. A dinner benefit was held for the teenager to help raised money for his search.

While there were tears and heartache for Dylan, the room was filled with hope Thursday.

Hundreds came to show support for the 13-year-old who has been missing since November 19.

“It’s been really sad. I miss him. He was just a funny person who could make you laugh in less than a second,” said Joseph Ceballos, Dylan’s neighbor and friend.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Lewis Palmer High School in Monument was packed, filled with family who loves Dylan, friends who miss him, and even complete strangers.

“We are a close knit community and being a mother of two boys, my heart goes out to Dylan’s mother and family,” said Chelsea Stephenson, a mother showing support.

“I look at this Facebook page every single day, just to see if there are any new updates, see if there are any leads, see if they found him,” said Rita Brown, whose 13-year-old daughter knows Dylan.
Wearing “Hope for Dylan” bracelets and blue ribbons, all spread one common message: They’re not giving up.

“We don’t want him to be forgotten. We want him to be found, and to be safe and come back,” said Nicholas Kemp.

Dylan’s mother Elaine Redwine says their family will never stop searching.

“He’s our baby, we will never give up hope. We never and will never give up hope. We are trying to stay strong for him,” said Elaine Redwine.

Elaine says the goal of the benefit was not only to raise funds to help fund Dylan’s search, but to continue to raise community awareness. She wants to make sure everyone knows his face and his story, and are keeping an eye out for her boy.

“When time passes, people pass too. And we just don’t want Dylan to pass. We want him to be out there, we want everyone to know his story so that any tip or anything little that can bring him home, will help us bring him home,” said Elaine Redwine.

The mother is grateful to family, friends, and the community who all helped make the fundraiser a success.

“It’s overwhelming. I just thank each and everyone one of you for all your support and thoughts and prayers and posts. It’s gonna help bring Dylan home,” said Elaine Redwine.

All funds from the dinner, silent auction, and raffle will go towards search efforts to help find Dylan.

The teen went missing from his father’s home in Vallecito near Durango, Colorado.

Cold Case Mother Holds onto Hope 1984 Murder Will be Solved

Cassandra Johnson was 20 years old when her life was cut short by multiple stab wounds, her body found in a wooded area of Simpsonville nearly three decades ago, police said.

While no arrests have been made, her mother, police and a former investigator are holding out hope that the 1984 cold case could be solved.

“It appears there are leads to be followed,” Interim Police Chief Steve Moore said. “As long there are leads to be followed, then you have a case.”

http://liarcatchers.com/cold_cases.html

Johnson’s mother, Robbie Davis, said her daughter was the second oldest of five children and a graduate of Hillcrest High who had gone on to Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte to study political science.

She had dreams of becoming a lawyer and was the mother to a 3-year-old daughter, who is now 32, Davis said.

“She was kind, she was loving,” Davis said.

Officers found Johnson dead off West Georgia Road about 8 a.m. Sept. 22, 1984, Moore said.

Investigator Mike Hanshaw and Lt. Kevin Threlkeld are working on the case, building on work done by Keith Grounsell, Moore said.

Grounsell said the case was brought to him while he was lead investigator at the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. He said he went through more than 1,000 pages of documents and put together a summary, including suspects, evidence and witnesses.

The case, he said, is on the verge of being solved.

“I want to get that family some closure,” Grounsell said.

Grounsell left the Solicitor’s Office last year to become Simpsonville police chief. When Grounsell was fired last month, it raised questions about what would happen to the Johnson case.

Moore said that while he was just starting to get familiar with the case, it appeared the next step could be for investigators to go through a long list of people who ought to be interviewed.

Davis said the last time she saw her daughter alive was when Johnson and her two sisters left the family’s Simpsonville apartment to go to a Hillcrest High football game. When they arrived home, the two sisters went inside, while Johnson stayed outside, talking to a neighbor, Davis said.

Davis said she was in Fountain Inn the next morning when she heard that a woman’s body had been found near her home. She remembered arriving on the scene and seeing yellow tape and her daughter’s blue purse.

An officer asked Davis for her name and told her to go home and that someone would come talk to her, she said.

“It was a nightmare,” Davis said. “And it has been a nightmare for a long time.”

The file on Johnson’s killing was started when most things were documented without computers and is the size of a suitcase, Moore said. It includes sketches, photos, an FBI profiling report, he said.

Seven suspects have been identified, he said.

“It appears there has been a good bit of work done on it,” Moore said.

Davis said her daughter’s unsolved killing has left deep wounds in her family, some of which have not healed. She said that if it weren’t for her faith, she wouldn’t have made it as far as she has.

“I just hope that before I die I can see someone prosecuted for this,” Davis said.

Anyone with information in the case can reach Threlkeld at 864-967-9536.
