Identity Theft Frederic Alan Gladle

According to an FBI press release, Frederic Alan Gladle, 53, of Austin Texas, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Lee Yeakel in the Western District of Texas to 61 months in prison and was ordered to forfeit $84,010 for his role in operating a foreclosure-rescue scam in Southern California and elsewhere that charged distressed homeowners fees in exchange for fraudulently delaying foreclosure sales.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

This finalizes a case in which Gladle was originally charged on Dec. 9, 2011. He then pleaded guilty on Jan. 6, 2012, to one count of bankruptcy fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft. In addition to his $84,010 forfeiture fine, he is also ordered to forfeit 63 prepaid, reloadable debit cards that he used to further his scheme.

Gladle’s scheme was rather ingenuous, bold and reckless in which he reportedly engaged from 2007 until his arrest in 2011. He helped distressed property owners delay foreclosure by paying a monthly fee — usually about $750 a month, according to prosecutors and charging documents.

When one of those whose homes were about to be foreclosed and they signed on with Gladle, one of his sales personnel would ask for a deed to a tiny portion of his property, normally about 1/100 of the property. The share was then transferred to some unrelated person who had filed for bankruptcy and who was completely unaware of this transfer.

The lender was then sent a copy of the small portion deed and a copy of the bankruptcy petition by the unrelated person. This would automatically place the foreclosure on hold since it is illegal to foreclose on any property which is involved in a bankruptcy filing.

The findings of the FBI investigation and court documents it was shown that Gladle and his associates had collected over $1.5 million in fees from their distressed clients, and had delayed the foreclosure process in over 1,100 properties.

Readers may find the USDOJ court records on this case at United States v. Frederic Alan Gladle.

Missing Person Linda Losacano

Wesley Chapel, Florida — Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a missing mother after a man was found dead inside her home.

Alison Stockfield says she’s still stunned.

“We went ‘garage saleing’ for three, four hours. And then we came home, I dropped her off at her house,” Stockfield said, remembering what happened on April 14th.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“You know, she gave me a hug, and went in, and said, ‘I’ll see you later.’ There was nothing out of the ordinary at all.”

Stockfield is the last person known to have seen her neighbor Linda Losacano alive.

Their young daughters would play with each other nearly every day, Stockfield said.

Sometimes they’d get together at Stockfield’s house, and other times they’d meet at the house two doors down in Wesley Chapel that Losacano shared with her boyfriend and the father of the little girl, Tim Arnold.

“They were just very caring, very giving. And there was no indication that anything was wrong. She never, ever said anything was wrong,” Stockfield said.

Sheriff’s detectives say no one spoke with Losacano after April 14th, when she was dropped off at the end of the day of garage sale shopping.

Stockfield says the boyfriend, Arnold, gave her differing explanations of why Losacano wasn’t around. First, she wasn’t feeling well. Then, she was up in New Hampshire visiting her family.

Stockfield says during the second half of April, she’d hear the couple’s daughter say she missed her mommy, and ask when she would be home.

The girl’s father would say things like, “I don’t know when she’s coming home,” and “It’ll be soon,” Stockfield said.

That wasn’t true; deputies say Losacano’s family hadn’t heard from her in weeks.

Finally, Sunday, Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies broke down the door, as neighbor Robert Lupo looked on.

“After the police kicked in the door, the young girl — five-year old — ran out the front door,” Lupo said.

“She was running towards her aunt with a policeman chasing after her, getting her out, [making] sure she got out to safety.

“She ran to her aunt and the policeman asked her where her mother was, and she just pointed to the sky.

“That was the last we saw of her — the police took her away and put her in protective custody.”

With the little girl safe, the SWAT team went in. They found her father, Losacano’s boyfriend, dead. Tim Arnold had apparently killed himself, with a single self-inflicted gunshot.

Deputies are asking anyone with information to call Sgt. James Sessa at the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office at 727-844-7711. Losacano is considered a missing endangered adult.

Identity Theft Students Impersonating Teachers

The Burleson Police Department is reportedly investigating identity theft in the case of a Burleson high school coach who was accused of an improper online relationship with a 16-year-old student.

Bryce Benekos, an English teacher and assistant football and baseball coach at Centennial High School, denied involvement and said he was on his honeymoon when the conversations took place last summer. The Tarrant County district attorney declined to prosecute for lack of evidence.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

Police Cmdr. Doug Sandifer confirmed Friday that there is an investigation but did not give details about its nature. Benekos’ wife, Kaitlin, however, said police told them they have “reopened the case” and are looking into who impersonated her husband online.

“This is terrifying for teachers,” she said.

Burleson school Superintendent Richard Crummel said he did not know about the police inquiry and said Benekos, who was put on paid administrative leave in August, will remain employed through the school year but won’t be offered a contract for next year.

“If additional information comes forward from law enforcement, we will be happy to examine it,” Crummel said.

Larry Shaw, executive director of the United Educators Association, said the number of incidents involving impersonation of teachers online has increased dramatically.

“We are having kids create false Facebook and Twitter accounts [to impersonate teachers] and sending out messages to other students and people. School districts and the Legislature have not dealt with toughening laws to penalize students who pretend to be teachers,” he said.

Shaw added that most students are juveniles and that it is difficult to get information if an incident involving a teacher is reported.

“We have enough problems with real cases to have phony cases out there,” Shaw said.

Chat services

Benekos, 28, was in his second year at Centennial. He previously taught at Franklin High School in El Paso for four years. Benekos said previously that he wants to keep his job and that he misses his students and friends in the district.

“The whole thing is bogus,” Benekos said in a previous interview. “This all happened two weeks after I got married.”

In early August, Burleson police were told that a 16-year-old girl had been having inappropriate conversations with a high school coach via the Skype chat service and that the girl’s stepfather had found the conversations on her laptop, according to police reports.

The girl identified the coach as Benekos. The conversations took place mostly in late June through mid-July, according to reports. They began on Stickam, a chat website, and moved to Skype.

While Stickam and Skype offer video services, users can also chat by text or audio. Someone can chat on either without being seen.

The girl never saw Benekos via video. In the police reports, a person identified as Benekos asks to see pictures of the girl wearing a sports bra and a bikini. There is also an exchange about having a liaison in a janitor’s closet at school. The 16-year-old told police that she never undressed for the Skype messages but did show photographs of herself in a striped bikini.

The girl said she ended the conversations because she feared getting into trouble, reports say.

Police searched the coach’s home and school computers, according to documents obtained by the Star-Telegram. A Secret Service examination found evidence of the conversations on the girl’s computer, but nothing was found on the Skype account that Benekos’ wife had on their devices.

The Secret Service agent told police that Benekos could have had the conversations even if no record exists.

But the agent also said someone could have impersonated him on Skype.

Union advice

Melissa Mozingo, an attorney with the United Educators Association, said she advises teachers to Google themselves periodically to make sure there are no false social media accounts or websites.

“Inappropriateness has risen to a level that we haven’t seen before. Most generations have been brought up to respect their elders. I think that has gone away,” she said.

Mozingo said she is looking at school districts’ policies to see what the penalties are for students who pretend to be teachers or other adults. The districts don’t look at administrative leave as punitive, but teachers do, she said.

“There is a presumption of guilt. We are afraid this teacher is going to do something to the kids. Let’s get them out of the building. …” Mozingo said. “It’s an unfortunate situation for the districts to be in and for the teachers.”

Drug Dog Sweep Cocaine Found in Xbox

Carlos Valenzuela was driving around Texas the other day, minding his own business, when he forgot to signal a turn at an intersection. For this oversight, he was pulled over, and probably would have got off with a warning/ticket if he hadn’t, you know, had three enormous bricks of cocaine inside his car. Two of them hidden inside an Xbox 360 console.

http://liarcatchers.com/drugdogsweeps.html

Upon being pulled over, police from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office noticed he was very nervous, and also kept looking at a bag on the seat next to him. So they searched the car and found inside the bag “one brick-like bundle wrapped in brown tape”. Also inside the bag was an Xbox 360.

Calling in sniffer dogs, who reacted to the console, they pried it open to find two more bricks of cocaine stashed inside.

In all, he was caught with 1.8kg of cocaine, and has been charged with “manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance”.

Weird he went to all the trouble of hiding two of them inside a console then left the other one in packaging that doesn’t exactly need a sniffer dog to tell you it’s full of drugs.

Private Detective Edgar Vieyra Arrested for Home Invasion

A suspect in a Lexington home invasion robbery that left two people with gunshot wounds has been identified.

Police say Edgar Vieyra, 18, entered a house at the end of Wayland Drive, off Bryan Station Road, around 2:30 a.m. He shot two people and assaulted a third. Another person inside managed to tackle Vieyra and hold him until police arrived.

http://liarcatchers.com/index.php

EMS took the three victims and Vieyra to UK Hospital for treatment. Police say one of the shooting victims appeared seriously hurt.

“One was in pretty rough shape coming out. I would probably say he was critical coming out. The other one I would say was stable,” Lexington Police Department Lt. David Biroschik said.

There were also kids inside the home.

“There were several children inside. I’d say three infants and one toddler. They were in another bedroom. They were all fine. In fact, they slept through the whole thing. We woke them up and took them to their parents,” Biroschik said.

Police say they have not determined the motive behind the shootings, and they continue to investigate.

Vieyra has been charged with three counts of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, burglary and violation of domestic violence order.

Wrongful Death Huber Barron

A male juvenile from Visalia who was shot at Smith Mountain Cemetery Sunday morning while visiting a friend’s relative’s grave has succumbed to his wounds at Kaweah Delta Medical Center, according to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim was Huber Barron, 17, said Sgt. Gary Hunt. He used to live in Orosi.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

According to deputies, Barron and at least three of his friends from Orosi, two 18 year old men and one boy younger than 18, were visiting a grave site when they were approached by several people in a car, possibly a blue Impala. A fight broke out and the suspects shot the victim in the upper torso, deputies said.

No one else received significant injuries. The shooting appears to be gang related, deputies said.

Barron’s friends called 911 and took him by private car as far south as the Orchard Walk Shopping Center at Dinuba Boulevard and Riggins Avenue in Visalia where an ambulance picked him up in the parking lot in front of the Target department store, said Tulare County Sgt. Floyd Hager.

Deputies shut down two rows of parking spaces about nine parking spots deep for more than three hours while detectives interviewed the victim’s friends.

Hager said the victim was conscious when he was put into an ambulance in the Target parking lot. The boys in the victim’s car were not gang members and did not know the shooter, he said.

The shooting happened at shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday on Road 100 at Avenue 416 at Smith Mountain Cemetery, he said.

Barron succumbed to his injuries at 2:18 p.m., deputies report.
