Pedophile Tracking Burleson, TX Substitute Teacher Accused

A 23-year-old Burleson Independent School District substitute teacher was charged Thursday with aggravated sexual assault of a child, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said.

Daniel Drew Sifford Jr., who also is a former contract labor employee of the Burleson Recreation Center, was arrested Thursday, said Sally Ellertson, a spokeswoman for the city of Burleson.

Sifford was a summer-camp counselor at the recreation center but was let go after five weeks because “he was not happy with the program and had difficulty meeting the mandatory training sessions,” Ellertson said.

In a news release, Ellertson said Sifford passed a full background check. The city terminated its relationship with Sifford on Thursday.

In a letter to parents, Burleson ISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson said Sifford was a substitute teacher at secondary campuses, though it was not clear which schools. Jimerson said the case does not involve a Burleson ISD student.

In the letter, he said Sifford did not work at any elementary schools. He is barred from the district and is no longer an employee.

Jimerson said Sifford also passed full background checks required by the district.

KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported that Sifford was being held in lieu of $200,000 bail Thursday

Private Detective: Police Department Items At Conference

The Owensboro Police Department is conducting an investigation  after multiple Williamsburg Police Department items were stolen at a conference.

The equipment all belonged to a vendor and not the police department.

One item stolen was a navy blue police-style uniform bearing the Williamsburg Police Department shoulder patch. The patch was a prop used by a vendor that specializes in selling emergency equipment. It was a part of a display at the Kentucky Sheriff’s Association’s annual conference.

Other items stolen from the conference include blue strobe lights that are installed inside the vehicle, not on the roof, as well as a bulletproof vest and gun holsters.

There were also reports of items being stolen from other vendors too.

The stolen uniform is not exactly like the department’s actual uniform. A real Williamsburg uniform will have gray lapels. The stolen uniforms are dark navy but do not have the same lapels. The metal badge on the uniform was not a Williamsburg badge, it has the name of another Kentucky law enforcement agency on it.

The intent and extent of the thefts is still unknown.

Private Detective: Pulaski Co. Man Charged With Kidnapping After School Bus Incident

A security camera inside of a Pulaski County school bus was recording on the afternoon of September 10th, when a car in front of the bus stopped suddenly during a turn into the Fox Haven subdivision.

The video shows the driver of that car walked up to the school bus and said something. The bus driver then continued on his route.

A short time later, the car showed up again but this time, it blocked the bus for an estimated six minutes.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

“I’ve got a car here blocking the road. I need you to send a police officer. He’s got me blocked intentionally,” the bus driver is heard saying.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested James Long on Wednesday, charging him with 20 counts of kidnapping and 23 counts of wanton endangerment.

“We want to make sure that people understand that we’re not gonna tolerate that kind of behavior,” Superintendent Steve Butcher told LEX 18’s Josh Breslow. “The guy had no child on the bus and never had a child on the bus, so you really don’t know why he did what he did.”

After watching the security video, Superintendent Butcher said it appeared Long slammed on his brakes in an attempt to cause a crash. He said Long screamed at the bus driver in front of the children and, at one point, the kids ran to the back of the bus thinking Long might be armed.

Investigators said Long claimed he was confronting the bus driver for speeding and following too closely. The superintendent denied the suspect’s claims and called the bus driver a veteran who did the right thing to protect the children.
