The Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office continues to actively work a missing person’s report related to the disappearance last September of Christopher “Topher” Bernards of Amity.

The 34-year-old Bernards, reported missing by his roommate, was last seen at his residence on Sept. 4 about 3 p.m.

The last confirmed sighting of Bernards was in Tumwater, Washington on September 7, when he purchased gift cards at an Albertson’s grocery store.

The following day, Bernards’ vehicle, a silver Dodge Neon bearing Oregon license plate 704CQM, was seen by construction crews on Interstate 5, near milepost 164, outside Cottage Grove. Construction workers noticed a single male occupant sleeping in the vehicle.

Wrongful Death Suspect in Louisville Interstate Shooting Charged

A man is being formally charged with shooting and killing another man while the two drove along in separate vehicles on Interstate 71 in Louisville.

According to police sources the suspect Christopher L. McCullum, 43, of Louisville. They say the shooting appears to be a completely random act of road rage and there was no connection between McCullum and his victim.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Early reports after the shooting said police were looking for a white Ford van. Just after noon they found a van which matched the description.

Witnesses said the driver was dressed in coveralls and was calmly chatting with officers after they got him out of the van. He was taken away in the back of a cruiser.

The van itself sat on the ramp for close to 90 minutes, time enough for a police technician to get there and start going over it to check for evidence.

McCullum is in the process of being arrested. He is expected to be arraigned on Thursday morning.

Pedophile Tracking Former Paso Robles, CA Teacher Enters Plea Deal

A Paso Robles teacher accused of multiple sexual acts with a minor in San Luis Obispo and Merced counties is facing up to seven years in prison after entering a guilty plea in court Monday.

In December, Jeremy Monn pleaded not guilty in Merced County to 15 felony charges against him. The District Attorney’s Office there filed the charges against him in November for alleged sexual acts with a minor that police say took place between April and July of 2013.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

According to the complaint, some of the alleged acts took place at Don Pedro High School in Tuolumne County and at an FFA conference in Fresno County.

Monn was arrested on December 12 at his Paso Robles home following a police investigation that began in September, a little more than three months after Monn’s first arrest in San Luis Obispo County.

His June arrest was for an alleged sexual relationship that court documents show took place between March and May of 2014 with a 16-year-old female student at Paso Robles High School where he was an agriculture teacher. He posted bail shortly after that arrest and was released from custody.

In July, the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office charged him with seven felony counts including meeting a minor for lewd purposes, unlawful sexual intercourse and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime. A misdemeanor charge of child molestation was also filed. Monn also pleaded not guilty in that case, which was ongoing at the time of his second arrest.

In Merced County courtroom Monday, officials say Monn pleaded guilty to three of the 15 charges against him there: unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, lewd acts with a 15-year-old, and oral copulation with a minor.

The DA’s Office says the other 12 counts against him were dismissed.

Officials add that as part of his plea deal, Monn must register as a sex offender and will also need to plead guilty to two of the seven charges against him in San Luis Obispo County: unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and arranging to meet with a minor with the intent to commit sexual acts.

The DA’s Office says if he does not enter that plea, it will be a violation of the plea deal and adds that although 12 charges were dismissed, the judge can still take those into consideration at his sentencing, which is scheduled for April 17.

Monn faces between four and seven years in state prison and will be transferred to San Luis Obispo County to enter his pleas here following his sentencing in April.
