Private Detective: Florist Has Their Delivery Van Stolen

Valentine’s Day is the busiest day of the year for florists. Naturally, it was the worst possible time for the staff of Kreations by Karen to discover that someone stole a truck from their distributor who stopped off to deliver some flowers.

Karen Boone was working when her wholesaler showed up with some vases. When he returned outside he discovered that his van was gone.

The main concern is not only the van; it’s also the $10,000 dollars worth of merchandise also went missing.

Thankfully, those who ordered flowers from Karen for Valentine’s Day will not have their delivery interrupted. Karen’s wholesaler was able to replace most the product that was taken.

The vehicle is described as a white chevy van, license plate number 617-923. The truck has the word ‘dreisbach’ on it.

Investigators have no description of the suspect.

Private Detective: Hillview Police Chief Convicted of Making a False Statement to Federal Agents

Hillview, Kentucky Police Chief Glenn A. Caple was convicted today of making a false statement to federal agents when questioned about his knowledge and involvement in moving evidence found on an elected official’s property on January 4, 2012, announced Acting United States Attorney John E. Kuhn, Jr.

“We thank the jurors for their consideration of the evidence in reaching a unanimous guilty verdict,” stated Acting U.S. Attorney John Kuhn. “We must have faith and trust in our police that they will follow the letter of the law – and will be honest with other law enforcement agents investigating crimes. We cannot have our police knowingly and willfully lying to federal agents out of expedience or self-interest. Chief Caple knew better; he broke the law and an important public trust.”

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

During the four-day trial, the United States proved that Caple lied to federal agents on April 26, 2012, when he was questioned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) about his involvement in directing subordinate Hillview Police officers to move evidence, a backpack characterized as a mobile meth lab, from its original location on the residence of the Hillview mayor and/or initially stating to federal agents that the suspected backpack was not found by Hillview police on the mayor’s property.

Hillview, Kentucky is a city of approximately 9,400 residents located in Bullitt County, Kentucky near Jefferson County. Hillview police officers testified under oath that a mobile meth lab in a black backpack was found in a tire next to a garage on the mayor’s property. They further testified that Chief Caple asked a Hillview police officer to move the backpack to a location believed to be off of the mayor’s property and failed to report the incident, in order to protect the mayor from bad publicity.

Jurors deliberated just over one hour before reaching a guilty verdict. Sentencing is scheduled before Senior District Judge Charles R. Simpson III on May 18, 2015, in Louisville. Caple faces no more than five years in prison, a fine of $250,000 and a three year period of supervised release.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Thomas Dyke and Marisa Ford and was investigated by the Louisville field office of the FBI.

Drug Dog Sweep Seized 74 Lbs of Marijuana in Amarillo, TX

Potter County sheriff’s deputies arrested two people and seized 74 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $259,000 during a traffic stop Wednesday, Lt. Patrick Zamora said.

Deputies arrested Abraham Vang, 44, and Xiong Chongneng, 43, both of Milwaukee, Wis., after the pair were pulled over in a 2015 Kia Optima about 9 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 40 near Soncy Road, authorities said.

The deputy grew suspicious during the stop and asked for permission to search the vehicle, Zamora said, which Chongneng denied. Instead, the deputy sent for a Potter County drug dog to sniff around the vehicle.

The dog indicated the presence of drugs in the trunk of the car, Zamora said. Deputies searched the vehicle and uncovered about 74 pounds marijuana hidden in 59 individual packages stuffed inside trash bags, a gray nylon bag and a suit case, Zamora said.

Vang and Chongneng were booked into Potter County jail on second-degree felony charges of possession of marijuana in an amount more than 50 pounds but less than 2,000 pounds, jail records show.

Missing Person Lisa Hayden-Gordon of Fort Lauderdale, FL

The family of a South Florida woman who went missing three weeks ago is making a desperate plea for help.

Lisa Hayden-Gordon, 52, has been missing since Jan. 24, and her family, along with authorities, are asking for the public’s help in finding her.

Hayden-Gordon, also known by her loved ones as “Noodles,” disappeared after attending a concert at Revolution Live in downtown Fort Lauderdale. “She met friends there,” said her sister, Tara Cloe. “She got there about 9 o’clock.”

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

After the show, Hayden-Gordon walked just down the street to a bar called Poor House, and was last seen around 1:30 a.m. Her car is also missing. “We have no idea where she is,” said Hayden-Gordon’s sister, Suzy O’Leary. “She would not leave on her own. We don’t know where she went. We haven’t seen or heard from her.”

Hayden-Gordon’s family said she is a piano teacher and a well-known musician in the area. They posted flyers with her pictures and information all around town. “She has a beautiful, beautiful spirit and she’s made a huge difference and a really positive impact in thousands of people’s lives,” said friend Teri Catlin. “She’s a great person. She’s my sister and I’m doing everything I can to find her, every day, every second, every week. That’s all I know to do.”

Loved ones said they are desperate to find Hayden-Gordon, even taking matters into their own hands. “I looked myself in parks and rivers and canals,” said Catlin, “and that’s pretty much all I’ve been doing for 16 days.”

“I can’t believe it’s been 17 days,” said Cloe. “You go to bed and think, ‘OK. We’re gonna find her today,’ and you wake up and you’re like, ‘Oh no. It’s another day.'”

Hayden-Gordon’s family said they are especially concerned about her being missing for so long because she has bipolar disorder and needs to have her medication.

Police have described the missing woman as a white female standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 100 pounds. She has brown hair with light eyes and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a peach sleeveless shirt with silver glitter sneakers.

Her car, which is also missing, is a faded blue 2003 Hyundai Elantra with Florida license plate 303-IEQ and stickers on it.

If you have any information on Hayden-Gordon’s whereabouts, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.

Wrongful Death San Francisco Medical Examiner IDs Victim in Body Parts Case

The dismembered body discovered last month in a suitcase in South of Market has been identified by the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office as Omar Shahwan. The Vallejo man was known to frequent The City. His body was found on 11th Street between Market and Mission streets Jan. 28, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Some body parts were also found near the suitcase. The 58-year-old Shahwan had already been reported missing at the time of the gruesome discovery. “This case is actively being investigated with the cause and manner of death pending at this time,” the Medical Examiner’s Office said in a news release.

Police said there are no new developments in the case and the investigation is ongoing. Shahwan’s body was only partially recovered, so DNA identification was necessary. Still all of the body parts found were identified as his, which rules out that the remains were of more than one person. Vallejo police said they received a missing person report for Shahwan Feb. 3. So far, the only suspect arrested in the case was released without charges last week, then died soon after at San Francisco General Hospital. Mark Andrus, 54, of San Francisco was arrested Jan. 31 in connection with the body parts discovery. Police received a call that day from someone saying they had seen Andrus and recognized him from surveillance camera footage released by police that same day. The footage showed Andrus in the area where the body parts were found. Andrus was booked by police on murder charges, but on Feb. 3 the District Attorney’s Office announced that there was insufficient evidence to pursue the case. He was subsequently released. Public Defender Jeff Adachi accompanied Andrus after he was released and set him up in a residential hotel. Adachi said his client died of septic shock after being hospitalized for a drug-related reason.

Wrongful Death Man Accused of Killing Girlfriend Faces Judge

The Lexington man accused of killing his girlfriend and dismembering her body faced a judge Thursday morning.

Police believe that Paris Charles murdered Goldie Massey in his own home.  A detective with the Lexington Police Department testified about the investigation which started back in the fall.

Charles was arrested on charges of murder and abuse of a corpse. Police believe on the night of September 20, Charles killed Massey and severed the body into multiple parts.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Weeks later, Massey’s arm was found on the banks of the Kentucky River in Henry County. Shortly after, her torso washed up in Jessamine County.

During testimony, Detective Steve McCowan said they DNA at the home and a cellphone tower picked him up near the Fayette/Madison County line where they believe he could have dumped some of the body parts.

“The tower locations indicated he was in the area of the Kentucky River, near the Fayette, Madison County line on September 22; in both of those counties at the location there are two bridges at I-75 and US 25 that are adjacent to one another, those two bridges span an area between Madison County and Fayette County,” Det. McCowan told the judge.

Charles remains in jail without bond. His case is now going to a grand jury.
