Missing Person Marina Boelter of Bloomfield, Ind.

The family of 18-year-old Marina Boelter is still searching for her and needs the public’s help.

Marina has been missing since New Year’s Eve.

Marina’s mother, Tressie “Cricket” Palmer, her grandpa Craven Plamer and Marina’s three sisters live in Greene County. Her three brothers on her father’s side live out of state.

The Greene County Daily World reports that Marina planned to attend the Culinary Arts program at Vincennes University to become a pastry chef. She was working at the Bloomfield IGA Deli when she disappeared.

On New Year’s Eve, Tressie stopped into the store while Marina was working to talk to her about a family get-together on New Year’s Day. But when Marina didn’t show up the family became worried.

According to police, Marina finished working her shift in the deli on New Year’s Eve and was last seen in the parking lot of the store getting into a four-door 2009 to 2011 Mercury Milan near the Bloomfield IGA.

The vehicle’s color has been reported as everything from silver to beige, even gold in color. The Mercury has multi-spoke rims, a spoiler and a blue tooth or cellular shark fin antenna on top.

Investigators also now have an unknown person of interest in the case.

The person has been reported as the driver of the Mercury and has been described as a white male, in his 40’s or 50’s and heavy set. The male was also said to have been wearing glasses.

Nobody has seen or heard from her since.

Her mother says Marina loved her job, had just recently moved into her own apartment, and things were looking up in her life.

Her family continues to look for her, visiting people who Marina knew, both friends and acquaintances and driving through the city to places Marina might have visited.

Her father and brother have made numerous trips to the area to aid in the search. Family members have handed out fliers, searched fishing holes, fields and wooded areas hoping to find Marina.

Lamar Imaging in Linton is assisting at giving anyone a special rate if they would like to help make posters or fliers for the missing woman.

In the flyers she hands out, she points out the cross necklace Marina is wearing in a photo – it once belonged to Tressie but Marina had asked if she could have it.

When friends and family and community members came together last week in the Bloomfield Park for a vigil to pray for Marina’s safe return, they played a song, “Open the Eyes of my Heart.” It’s a special favorite of Marina’s.

Marina first heard the song when she saw a video of a young, autistic, blind boy singing it — her mother said Marina started to cry and that’s when she wanted the cross and has wore it ever since.

Anyone with tips or information regarding the whereabouts of Marina Boelter can remain anonymous and are asked to contact the Indiana State Police Bloomington Post at (812) 332-4411, the Bloomfield Police Department or the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

Wrongful Death Henderson Co. Man Dead After Being Shot Multiple Times

A Henderson County man is dead after being shot multiple times.

Blake G. Crews, 20, was pronounced dead at his Fairmont home Saturday morning. The autopsy confirmed that his death was a result from multiple gunshot wounds in his face.

“It was brutal in nature,” said Kentucky State Police spokesman Corey King to The Courier Press.

The initial KSP call was to report a burglary in progress at the residence.

KSP investigators believe that burglary was probably not a motive in this case.

“Being shot in the face, that’s somewhat personal,” King told The Courier Press.

Crews did not live at the home, King said. Crews is believed to have been home-sitting for the owners while they were away.

Wrongful Death Man Stabbed to Death in Lexington

Officials have released the name of the man stabbed to death in Lexington, Sunday evening.

The coroner says Todd Schumacher, 40, died from stab wounds inside a home on Lamont Drive.

Police responded to the home just off Clays Mill Road, around 7:30 p.m. and found Schumacher dead inside.

Around 9:30 p.m., police arrested Matthew Patrick Donaghy and charged him with murder. According to the arrest citation, Donaghy was the victim’s boyfriend.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html
LEX18 reporter, Josh Breslow spoke with some of Schumacher’s friends who remember him fondly.

“When he was in the room, you knew he was in the room. That’s for sure,” said Bond Jacobs, a friend of Schumacher.

Fifteen years of dinners, karaoke and other gatherings means that there is a lot to remember about his life, stories that Jacobs tells with a smile about his close friend.

Schumacher is remembered as a funny guy.  Bond describes him as an animal lover, a family man and a handyman.
“Todd was a good man. This is all just very sad and terrible and shocking,” said Jacobs.

After being treated at an area hospital, Schumacher’s 20-year-old boyfriend, Matthew Donaghy was arrested and charged with murder.

Investigators have not commented on what they believe led up to the stabbing.  An arrest citation simply reads, “suspect obtained a dangerous instrument and assaulted the victim resulting in his death.”

LEX18 has learned that Donaghy was accused of an incredibly disturbing crime, earlier this year, involving Schumacher’s dog.  Court documents alleged that Donaghy “placed his roommate’s canine in a hot oven”…”During a fit of rage.”

The dog was treated for “multiple burn wounds.”

The paperwork referred to the dog as “Monroe.”  That’s the same dog that friends say Schumacher has been looking for since last week, when the beloved pet went missing.

“It’s just all so horrifying. And when we learn more I’m sure it’ll get even worse,” said a dismayed Jacobs. “He’s gonna be missed. And there’s a lot of broken hearts.”

Schumacher’s family have set up a crowd sourcing site for his memorial.

Private Detective: Man Robbed Lexington Check Cashing Store

Police are searching for a man they say robbed a Lexington check cashing store Monday morning.

The man, who was in and out of the store in a matter of minutes, was caught on several nearby cameras as he robbed the Cash Express on New Circle Road.

The man pulled into the parking lot in a black older model suburban. The driver, described as a white man in his late 20s with a tear drop tattoo under his right eyes, walked right in front of the Auto Mart on his way to Cash Express.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

“The suspect entered the store with weapon in hand, went over the counter, demanded the clerk open the register. She did, he ordered her to the floor and he emptied the register and left the store,” says Lt. Mark Brand.

Police have a reason to believe the man may have driven back to the Lexington Motor Inn just behind the auto mart. The K-9 unit searched that area but found nothing.

If you recognize the man captured in surveillance photos, you are asked to contact Lexington Police at (859) 253-2020.

Private Detective KY Teens Arrested in FL After Alleged Crime Spree

After more than 2 weeks on the run, police have finally caught up with the Grayson County teens accused in a multi-state crime spree. The search for Dalton Hayes and Cheyenne Phillips garnered national attention, and they’ve been called the modern day Bonnie and Clyde. But, their run from the law has now ended in Florida.

Just after midnight Sunday morning, the two teenage sweethearts suspected in a crime spree of stolen vehicles and checks across several states were taken into custody.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

18-year-old Dalton Hayes and his 13-year-old girlfriend, Cheyenne Phillips, were arrested in Panama City Beach after police found them sleeping in a truck they reportedly stole in Georgia. The vehicle was surrounded by US Marshals overnight and both Hayes and Phillips were taken into custody.

The 13-year old’s mother says in a phone interview that she didn’t know much about the two’s relationship.

“I don’t approve of it. I just reunited with my daughter after 10 years we started talking before Christmas, so I didn’t know much about the relationship it was just a bunch of lies in it,” said Cheyenne’s mother, Sherry Peters.

Hayes and Phillips began their run from the law and their families earlier this month when they vanished from their small hometown in Grayson County.

Phillips’ mother says her Daughter’s behavior came as a complete shock to the family.

“She was fascinated over him and just in love. This is not something I would think Cheyenne would do,” she said.

When Hayes hit the road, police say he was running away from trouble at home. He faces burglary and theft charges out of Grayson County.
According to jail records, Hayes is being held on a charge of custodial interference. He is scheduled for a first court appearance in Florida Monday morning.

The man charged with murder over a pair of methadone soaked underwear is now being charged with manslaughter instead of murder.

A trial date has been set for Michael Jones who is accused of smuggling drug soaked underwear into jail leading to an inmate’s death. Investigators say Jones got a pass from jail to attend a funeral.  When he returned he was already wearing underwear soaked in methadone. The Jessamine Journal reports that Jones is set to go on trail May 4th.
