Private Detective, Burglary Suspect Runs From Officer, Attempts Kidnapping

A Campbellsville man arrested last week in connection with a burglary made matters even worse on his way to jail.

Police say 23-year-old Price Turner escaped a police officer as he was being escorted to the police cruiser, and then tried to kidnap a woman after running off.

Turner was picked up at his home on Ray Street, where neighbors identified him and said he had threatened them before. Turner was first seen on Walmart surveillance video breaking into a case and stealing cell phones.

“He broke it with a wrench, stuck his hand in, cut his hand therefore leaving a blood trail,” said Sgt. Shannon Wilson.

Neighbors identified the burglary suspect as Turner and tips led police to Ray Street, where Turner lived.

Police say Turner ran from the officer about a block to the Campbellsville Water Company, where he tried to kidnap a woman in broad daylight.

“She was actually in the drive-thru of the water company paying her bill when he approached her to get into her car,” Sgt. Wilson said.

The same drive-thru customer Pat Phillips used today.

“I think it’s sad that it’s come to this, where people are so brazen to come and invade your privacy,” Phillips said.

Luckily, that officer who police say had minor injuries from the scuffle, wasn’t too far behind and took him back into custody before he could do any harm to that driver or the community.

Police say they found two stolen guns in Turner’s apartment and several other stolen items that they’ve connected to car break-ins.

Missing Person Christine Mohler of Smithville, TX

Smithville police are investigating the disappearance of a woman who has gone missing after officials say she didn’t report to work at her job at a Bastrop fast food restaurant.

Officials said 25-year-old Christine Mohler of Smithville, a cashier at the Bastrop KFC at Chestnut and Texas 95, has been officially listed as “missing” since Thursday, Aug. 7, though family members say she’s been out of touch for more than a week.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“She supposedly lived with her parents in Smithville, but had been staying with someone in Bastrop,” said Detective Jad Hubbard with the Smithville Police Department. “We’re following up on some leads, and we’ve put her in the (Texas Department of Public Safety) missing persons database.”

Officials say it’s unknown whether she disappeared of her own accord or whether foul play was involved, but her cousin, Doyle Sullivent, says he fears she’s in trouble.

“It’s just not like her to leave without telling anyone,” Sullivent lamented. “She’s the type of person who tells her mom everything, whether it’s bad or good.”

Sullivent said Mohler doesn’t own a car and that her purse and ID had been left behind at the residence at which she was staying.

Sullivent, a concealed handgun license instructor and Gonzales County EMT from Rosanky, has been organizing a grassroots effort, handing out fliers and posting on social media outlets, to find his cousin since she failed to report to work last week. The EMT invites people to contact him through his unlocked Facebook page at facebook.com/doyle.sullivent or contact him on his cell phone at 512-988-0916 if they have any information about Mohler’s whereabouts.

“I’m going to keep myself out there and hope that we find her, one way or another,” Sullivent said. “The more you get the word out there, the better the chance you have. It’s when you sit back and do nothing that you find out they’ve been dead for 20 years.”

Sullivent says he’s hoping that anyone with details will step forward and “do the right thing.”

It’s time for some people to just come forward and do what’s right,” Sullivent posted on his Facebook page on Monday. “It’s not about your lifestyle or past problems. This is about possibly saving a life. Please stand up and do the right thing. Contact the Smithville Police Department if you have seen her or know where she might (be).”

Hubbard said there wasn’t much the police could do if Mohler had simply hit the road on a whim.

“There have been some sightings, supposedly, but she’s 25 years old,” the detective said. “There will be a note on her driver’s license that she’s missing if she’s pulled over. If she’s found and she says she’s not in trouble, that’s the end of it.”

Private Detective, Two Arrested in Theft of Phone Cables

A lost wallet was the key to leading authorities to a couple phone cable theft suspects.

On Friday, an AT&T employee working in the Hwy 1804 area in Whitley County found a wallet in the area and contacted police since cables had been stolen from the area and phone services disconnected to several customers.

Police say that wallet belongs to 28-year-old James “Jimmy” Davis, Jr. When they arrived at Davis’ house, officials noticed a smoldering burn pile containing remains of phone cable.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

At the house, they also found 24-year-old Anthony Anderson, who had already been named a suspect in the phone cable theft case by both the Whitley Couty Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police.

Officials say the suspects would melt down and sell the material to metal recyclers as scrap.

AT&T customers in south Whitley County had their services interrupted by the theft of phone cable.

“Interruptions in AT&T service are more than just inconvenient. They’re dangerous to the residents who rely on phone service in case of emergency,” said Sheriff Colan Harrell.

Also at the house, was 33-year-old Edna Holt, who had a warrant for her arrest for a parole or probation violation.

Anderson was also wanted for questioning in the theft of an ATV. According to court documents, Anderson was charged in 2010 for the same crime, receiving stolen property under $10,000. That case also involved stolen cable, according to the Sheriff’s office.

Pedophile Tracking Twin Brothers Arrested on Child Porn Charges

The twin brothers, arrested on child porn charges after a disturbing find at their Lexington home, volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America many years ago, according to reliable sources.

76-year-old brothers Jack and Jerry Cassidy were arraigned over video Tuesday afternoon on child porn charges. The twins, who had their mug shots taken in what appears to be their bath robes, were picked up after a tip led police to their Mason Headly Road home.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Inside, police say they found pornographic images of school-age children on videos, pictures, cameras and film.

Reliable sources tell LEX 18 Jack and Jerry Cassidy served as Boy Scout volunteers for many years.

An LEX 18 crew went to the Boy Scouts of America office on Richmond Road where no one recalled the brothers volunteering. Their names were not listed on the council’s registries, but the current list only dates back 15 years.

“If they were, it has been many, many years ago,” said Chip Armisaw, Boy Scouts executive director.

“They’re 76-years-old. Do your records go back 30, 40, 50 years?” asked LEX 18’s Leigh Searcy.

“I’d have to contact the national council of the Boy Scouts of America,” Armishaw said.

The Scout’s executive director says if anyone comes forward claiming the Cassidys were their troop leader, the council will contact Lexington police.

Their bond set at $10,000 full cash.

Jack Cassidy has lived at the home on Mason Headley since 1977. His brother has lived there since the 1980’s.
