Wrongful Death Man Charged with Murder in Case of Missing Pueblo, CO Teen

Christopher Waide, the last person to see 19-year-old Lea Chali Porter before she disappeared, has been arrested on first-degree murder and sexual assault charges, the Westminster Police Department said Friday.

Porter’s mother reported her missing June 5. She was last known to be visiting friends in Westminster and most recently was living in Pueblo. She graduated from Florence High School in 2013.

Westminster Police are still actively investigating the case.

It’s unclear what Waide’s connection to Porter is, but there were at least four pages related to Porter’s disappearance that were shared on Waide’s Facebook page from June 6-9.

Drug Dog Sweep Georgetown Man Receiving Pot in Disguised Pet Supply Packages

The packages a Scott County man was receiving were made to resemble something coming from a pet supply store. Ironically, it was a narcotics dog who sniffed out the pot inside, confirming to police the contents of the shipments.

The Georgetown man is now charged with receiving illegal drugs by mail after police say they confiscated pounds of pot disguised to look like the shipment was from a pet supply store.

Troy Davis was caught in a sting operation set up by Georgetown Police detectives and a federal officers Wednesday. When police officers walked in on the delivery, the mail recipient bowed his head in defeat and disappointment.

“In this specific instance, a federal agent actually handed the packages to him. And then, once he accepted them, we approached and announced ourselves and began to speak to him,” said Lt. Don Mather with the Georgetown Police Department. “I think he was a little disappointed.”

He might have gotten away with it, if not for his neighbors who were suspicious of the packages Davis and his son were receiving.

Davis allegedly admitted to the plan to sell the drugs. So far, police have seized nearly a dozen pounds.

He is charged with marijuana trafficking, buying and possessing drug paraphernalia, and is expected to face federal charges, as well.
