Wrongful Death Man Sentenced to 30 Years in Beating Death of Landlord

The man who pleaded guilty in the beating death of his landlord in 2011 has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

47-year-old Terrence Cram was sentenced to 25 years for murder, five years for tampering with evidence and five years for fraudulently using a credit card in the beating death of 49-year-old Tena McNeely. The two five-year sentences are to be served concurrently.

The defense attorney reminded the judge that Cram was very cooperative at time of his arrest and has a lack of criminal history besides this incident. He asked the court for the lowest possible sentence of 20 years.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

“No sentence will take away the pain this family is feeling,” said the judge.

Cram will be eligible for parole after 85 percent of the sentence is served. Cram pleaded guilty to the charges in April.

Police say Cram beat McNeely to death in January 2011 at their Anderson County home, where the victim’s family says Cram rented a room for about five years. Police say Cram was also using McNeely’s credit cards for six months in several states after her death.

In a handwritten statement obtained by LEX 18, Cram says he only killed McNeely because she begged him to do so. He claims in the four-page letter he found McNeely at the bottom of the stairs after a bad fall that day and when he was going to call 911, “she yelled no!”

“She said she couldn’t move her left leg and the rest of her body was wracked in pain” he wrote. “Please, please kill me! I can’t and won’t live like this,” she said, according to his statement.

In graphic details Cram described how he hit her repeatedly until she stopped moving. “I had to stop her pain” he wrote.

Police arrested Cram in Arizona six months after the victim was found dead in her home.

Tena McNeely was the daughter of state Trooper James McNeely, who died in the line of duty during a flood rescue in Frankfort in 1972.

Missing Person Molly Miller of Carter County, OK

t’s been just over a year since two Carter County residents disappeared without a trace. Now, the family of one of the missing has hired private investigators to step in and help solve the case.

What happened to Molly Miller on July 2nd 2013 and where is she now? These are the questions that haunt Miller’s family.

In May, her cousin, Paula Fielder spoke out about the family’s fears.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Fielder said, “You know in your head that the worst has happened but you want to believe it in your heart that they’re still out there somewhere” and they want to know where.

That’s why they say they’ve hired private investigators to solve the mystery and bring Molly home.

Investigator Caroline Gear said, “Currently getting his team together, then they will be up, headed up to Oklahoma over the weekend and we’ll begin the investigation.”

Gear, with Klein Investigations, says their team of 9 investigators want to make it clear they’re here to work alongside local law enforcement and not step on any toes.

Gear added, “We’re not here to hinder or help any law enforcement just to basically come in as a third party and do our own independent investigation.”

OHP Captain Ronnie Hampton said, “Once we turned our case in to the prosecutor in January and they were charged with crimes, at that point our investigation into the Molly Miller incident was pretty much over.”

Hampton says they began investigating the case after James Con Nipp, who’s now behind bars in Love County, allegedly led troopers on a chase with Miller and Haynes in the car in July.

Investigators say Nipp was the last person to see, or hear from, Molly Miller and Colt Haynes.

Hampton added, “We still receive usually one or two calls a week on the molly miller incident and we still pass that information on to the appropriate law enforcement agency.”

Klein Investigators say they’ve set up a new hotline number and are asking for the public’s help.

Gear said, “What we’re stressing most right now about that is, it’s an anonymous hotline. You do not have to leave your name or you number, just your tip”

The hotline number is 580-798-8157 or you can submit your tip via email to mollymillertips@hotmail.com.

Private Detective, Graphic Letter Allegedly Written Before Lexington Man Went Missing

Monday marked the end to a week-long search for a man who Lexington Police described as a danger to himself and others.

James Caldwell showed up June 2 at a medical facility in Corbin.

When Caldwell seemingly vanished, police issued arrest warrants for stalking and terroristic threatening after he was accused of writing a graphic letter.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

LEX 18 has obtained a copy of the incredibly descriptive letter Caldwell accused of leaving for one woman.

These are just some of the overly graphics threat included in the two-page letter:

“I’ve thought about getting a Super Soaker and as you pull your keys to open the front door, spraying you with gasoline and setting you on fire.”

“Shooting you at work and then shooting myself or hurting one of your co-workers.”

“Breaking into your house, hanging myself from the banister.”

“Murdering your parents because it would completely ruin your life.”

“Once I was laying in bed at night and for no reason at all, I came up with a plan to hurt random people Lexington, then coming and hurting you too…like some serial killer was in Lexington…I even once followed a couple home in an attempt to prepare victims.”

Junnell Harris said it was left last week on a vehicle outside of her Lexington home.

“When I started reading it, I knew immediately what it was and who it was from,” she said.

According to Harris, the letter was addressed to her 21-year-old daughter.

“I’ve never read anything like that and I just couldn’t believe that a guy that much older than my daughter that she never had a relationship with would threaten something so graphic like that,” she said. “It’s just total shock and disbelief that this can happen.”

Harris said her daughter has tried to get a protective order against Caldwell but under Kentucky law the two had to be married or share a child. She added that the two were never romantically involved.

“I have to be married to somebody or dated and lived with somebody or have a child by somebody for somebody to protect us from somebody wanting to do these violent things? It just doesn’t make sense to me and whatever it takes, I’m going to do it,” Harris said.

The letter also includes the description of a vivid dream where the writer murders a woman as she wakes up to find she’s been stabbed in the jugular.

There’s even mention of a mouse head being including in the letter, but then the writer changes his mind and scratches the paragraph out.
Lexington Police said Caldwell suffers from a mental illness.

However, Caldwell’s family denies that and said he appears to have had a mental breakdown.
