Wrongful Death Reward Offered in Lexington Murder

It’s been nearly three months since a Lexington man was murdered inside his Silver Maple Way home and Lexington Police said they’re no closer to finding his killer than the day they began looking.

They’ve decided to give away a reward to the person who can help them make an arrest.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

“They had a few leads they worked on, but right now it’s considered a cold case,” Lexington Police Department Detective Rob Sarrantonio said.

When we talked to neighbors right after Glenn “Rev” Sanford’s murder, most said they knew the 54-year-old and that people in the neighborhood know everyone who comes and goes.

“We believe overnight, the 2nd into the 3rd, one or two suspects went into his house, shot him multiple times and killed him,” Det. Sarrantonio said.

Since then, very few leads about who killed the man who lived for U of L basketball and was known as the area’s do-gooder, hence the nickname Rev.

“He would go out to service stations and collect expired donuts before they threw them out and he’d collect them and give them to homeless people and different churches,” Det. Sarrantonio said. ” So I think that’s how we got his name.”

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information and you can give them a call at 859-253-2020.

Wrongful Death Man Says Victim Pleaded to Be Killed

A man accused of murdering an Anderson County woman in 2011 says he did so, but only because the woman asked him to.

That’s just one of the many details outlined in a handwritten statement by Terrence Cram.

In the hand written statement obtained by LEX 18, 48-year-old Terrence Cram details how he bludgeoned Tena McNeely in January 2011 – something he claims she pleaded for him to do.

Police arrested Cram in Arizona six months after police say Cram’s landlord was found beaten to death in her Anderson County home. Officers say Cram stole her credit cards using them across the country.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

In the four page statement, Cram wrote that on the day of the murder he returned to the house he shared with McNeely after a shopping trip and that’s when he “found the basement door ajar and the light on.”

Cram claims he found McNeely at the bottom of the stairs after a bad fall. Cram said he was going to call 911 when “she yelled no!”

That’s when cram writes McNeely pleaded with him to kill her, something he says she had asked him to do many times in the past.

“She said she couldn’t move her left leg and the rest of her body was wracked in pain” he wrote. “Please, please kill me! I can’t and won’t live like this,” according to his statement.

“The only close instrument at hand was a double sledge/maul…. I showed it to her and asked again,” Cram wrote. “She said yes again.”

At that point, “I asked her to close her eyes. I kissed her on her forehead,” the written statement says.

In graphic details Cram describes how he hit her repeatedly until she stopped moving. “I had to stop her pain” he wrote.

Cram is charged with murder, tampering with evidence and fraudulent use of a credit card. His trial is expected to begin May 12.

Wrongful Death Pulaski County Man Sentenced in Teen’s Death

A Pulaski County man accused of driving drunk and killing a teenager in 2013 has been sentenced to a total of 12 1/2 years behind bars.

William Wesley, Jr. is to serve ten years for second degree manslaughter and 2 1/2 years for criminal mischief, consecutively, in the death of 19-year-old Jacob Ebenstein.

Ebenstein had just left work at Culver’s and was riding his motorcycle home the night of April 15, 2013, at about 10:30 p.m. on Kentucky 635, when deputies say Wesley crossed the center line and collided with the teen.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Ebenstein was airlifted to UK Hospital, where he later died.

Deputies say Wesley was was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Wesley was originally charged with DUI, and those charges were upgraded to murder. He then pleaded guilty to amended charges of manslaughter and criminal mischief in March.

Ebenstein’s family was in the courtroom Thursday for Wesley’s sentencing. His mother and father stood before the judge to speak about their son before learning the fate of Wesley.

“I forgive him and hope he takes the time in prison to think about his actions. And to let his family know we don’t hold them accountable for their son’s lack of judgment, ” said Tina Ebenstein, Jacob’s mother.
