Private Detective 2 Former Law Enforcement Officers Indicted on Sex Charges

A Meade County grand jury has indicted two former law enforcement officers on sex charges involving a 15-year-old girl.

Stratford Young, 33, and Todd Matti, 44, face two counts of sodomy. Matti’s charges date back to November, 2012. Young was also charged with rape. Prosecutors say his encounters with the teen date from May to July, 2013.

Young served as a Kentucky State Police trooper, and Matti was a Brandenburg Police Department officer.

Matti and Young both pleaded not guilty.

Two other officers have also been accused, but cases were not presented Monday. Prosecutors told WAVE 3 that was to avoid jeopardizing the evidence they say they have against Matti and Young.

Private Detective Doctor Admits to Pill Mill

Prosecutors say a former doctor in Paintsville has admitted to his role in a conspiracy responsible for illegally distributing more than 25,000 prescription pills in Eastern Kentucky.

On Monday, Rano Bofill, 72, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to unlawfully dispense Oxycodone.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

According to court documents, from January 2009 until December 2012, Bofill conspired with Tammy Cantrell and Shelby Lackey to distribute thousands of Oxycodone pills to patients without a legitimate medical purpose. Cantrell and Lackey owned Care More Pain Management, LLC, located in Johnson County. Bofill acknowledged that he wrote prescriptions for numerous patients after performing little to no examination. Officials say some instances, he even signed off on prescriptions without actually ever seeing the patients. Patients who visited the clinic paid $200 for the initial visit and $185 for subsequent visits; all fees were paid in cash. Bofill admitted he saw approximately 25 patients per day and was paid between $5,000 and $6,000 per week.

Lackey and Cantrell pleaded guilty last year to their roles in the conspiracy. Another doctor at the clinic, Richard Albert, pleaded guilty in July 2012 to a conspiracy charge and was sentenced to 75 months in prison. Albert, Cantrell and Lackey have collectively agreed to forfeit approximately $1.3 million, representing proceeds from the conspiracy.

The investigation into this case started when detectives with the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office received complaints from local law enforcement that Care More was seeing a remarkably high volume of patients. Court records state that patient lines at Care More stretched into the parking lot.

Cold Case WV State Police Investigate Man Missing Since 1949

In 1949 Jedson “Judd” Crookshanks left his family’s home in Rainelle to start working as a fire boss in Montgomery County.

Mr. Crookshanks never made it to his new job. In fact, no one heard from him after that day.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

For family members his disappearance has been a troubling mystery. His niece, Margie Hume says, “We always figured somebody maybe robbed him or he wrecked or something but, we don’t know that. We just made that up in our minds because he just never arrived.”

Margie, 98-years-old, wants answers as to what happened to her Uncle Judd.

Sgt. Andy Evans has taken on the task of reopening the case. He says,”It’s been very difficult just to research him as a person much less to research him as a missing person.”

There isn’t a missing person’s report for Judd Crookshanks in the State Police archive and all traces of him end in 1949.

If you have any information on this case you are asked to call 304-438-3000.

Wrongful Death Jury Seated in Brutal Madison County Murder

A jury has been seated in the Madison County trial of a woman accused in the gruesome murder of her then-boyfriend’s wife.

Prosecutors say Christina Marcum and Jason Singleton killed and dismembered Angela Frazier-Singleton in January of 2011.

Singleton pleaded guilty to complicity to commit murder and other charges, and is serving a 30 year sentence. He admitted to dismembering his wife and dumping her body in a field, but says Marcum killed her.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

With a jury seated, prosecutors and defense attorneys will make opening statements Monday afternoon.

Marcum’s attorney claims Kentucky State Police investigators did not follow the rules when questioning Marcum and used extreme tactics to get information.
