Missing Person John Radabaugh Jr. of Ocklawaha, FL

Family members continued their search Tuesday for a missing 48-year-old Ocklawaha man with the mental capacity of a 3-year-old.

The family searched for a few hours before calling 911. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office put in more than 2,000 man hours searching for Radabaugh Jr., using helicopters, all-terrain vehicles, horses and tracking dogs, but has since called off the search, although deputies are helping the family post missing person posters at area businesses.

More than a dozen vacant homes in the area were searched, the sheriff’s office stated.

Automated calls about Radabaugh Jr. also were sent to residents living within 40 miles of the family’s home.

On Tuesday, family members gathered at the Moss Bluff Baptist Church near Meador’s Corner to continue the search, said Carol Ferry, who is assisting with the effort.

“The family asked that you be safe and cautious on your search, and know we are so very grateful for your help and prayers,” she said in an email.

Radabaugh Jr. is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. He was last seen wearing pajama bottoms and a T-shirt.

Anyone seeing him is asked to call 911.

Pedophile Tracking 2 NY Residents Arrested for Child Sex Trafficking

Two New York residents are being held on charges related to sex trafficking of minors after their arrest at a Milford hotel, authorities said.

Edward “Fire” Thomas, 39, and Kayla Walters, 22, had been indicted Feb. 24 by a grand jury in New Haven and were arrested Friday, federal authorities said in a press release. They are both charged with conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor. Also, Thomas was charged with two counts and Walters one count of sex trafficking of a minor.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

If convicted, they face a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison.

According to the federal indictment, between September 2012 and August 2013, Thomas and Walters conspired to recruit, harbor and transport a minor to engage in commercial sex acts. The indictment also accuses Thomas of recruiting, harboring and transporting a second minor to engage in commercial sex acts.

Officials did not name the hotel where Thomas and Walters were arrested. Other details of the case were not released.

Thomas and Walters appeared Monday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Donna F. Martinez in Hartford and were ordered held.

According to a press release, Walters and Thomas were previously arrested together in October 2013 in a prostitution sting at the Stratford Conference Center and Hotel on Lordship Boulevard. Police said an undercover detective responded to an online posting offering sex with two women for $350. The Stratford detective posed as a customer, went to the room and was let in by one of the women from the online post, the release stated.

Police said Thomas was in the hotel room with Walters and another woman and claimed to be their “manager.” An infant was also found in the room, along with evidence of recent marijuana use, police said. Thomas was charged with risk of injury to a minor, promoting prostitution and possession of marijuana.

Walters was charged with prostitution, risk of injury to a minor and possession of marijuana.

Charges against both are pending, according to state court records.

The more recent case is being investigated by the FBI and Connecticut Child Exploitation Task Force, which is made up of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. Stratford and Milford police have assisted in the investigation.

The task force is based in New Haven and investigates crimes against children occurring over the Internet and provides computer forensic review services for participating agencies. To report child exploitation crimes, federal authorities say to contact the FBI at 203-777-6311.

Insurance Fraud Lake Arrowhead, CA Woman Sentenced to 11 Years

Alyce Leticia Biggs, 44, of Lake Arrowhead was sentenced last week to 11 years in state prison for committing workers’ compensation insurance fraud, tax fraud and grand theft.
In 2010, Biggs was convicted of workers’ compensation insurance fraud, tax fraud, and grand theft.  At that time, she was placed on probation and ordered to serve a year in custody.  After her custody time was completed and while on probation, Biggs, a bookkeeper, continued to steal from at least two of her clients.

http://liarcatchers.com/insurance_fraud.html

“Biggs would take bank deposits from the victims that consisted of cash and checks, and, on the way to the bank would pocket the cash, and only deposit the checks,” said Deputy District Attorney Michael Chiriatti, Jr., who prosecuted the case.
According to Chiriatti, Biggs’ criminal activity continued for at least three years. As a result, she was rearrested, her probation was revoked, and a new criminal case was filed.
On Jan. 17, 2014, Biggs pleaded guilty to six new counts of grand theft, admitted a white collar crime enhancement, and admitted that she was in violation of her prior grant of probation. She also agreed at that time to serve 11 years in state prison, and pay back the victims all of the money she took from them.
On Friday, at the sentencing hearing, victim Vicki Center told the Court, “This whole event has been tragic to me.”
When asked if she had anything she would like to tell the Court or the victims, Biggs stated she did not.

Identity Theft Suspects Arrested at Claremont, CA Hotel

Police visited a hotel room after more than $300 of room service was charged to a stolen credit card.

Officials said the same stolen card was used to pay for the room at the Double Tree Hotel, 555 W. Foothill Blvd.

Inside the room, officers on Saturday located Christian Gutierrez, a 36-year-old transient, along with blank credit cards, magnetic strips, a card printer, embosser and methamphetamine, police said in a news release Sunday.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

“Further investigation revealed that the subject was in possession of personal profiles of at least one hundred individuals including Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers and credit card numbers,” the statement distributed by Lt. Shelly Vander Veen said.

Gutierrez was arrested and was being held at the Claremont jail in lieu of $55,000 bail on suspicion of identity theft, possession of meth and an outstanding warrant, according to police.

Police said they discovered another room at the same hotel had been rented using the same stolen card.

“When officers made contact at that room, they encountered three additional subjects along with additional stolen checks and driver’s licenses, card readers, at least fifty unconfirmed stolen credit card numbers, along with methamphetamine and heroin,” Vander Veen’s statement said.

Two of those men were arrested.

They were identified as James Pinto, a 26-year-old transient, and Colin Nash, 32, of West Covina.

Both men were taken to jail at the Claremont Police Department.

Pinto arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin, identity theft and an outstanding narcotics related warrant. Bail was set at $100,000, according to police.

Nash is suspected of identity theft and possessing meth, police said. His bail was set at $50,000.

It’s unclear what happened to the third person in the room.

Reached by phone Sunday, Lt. Karlan Bennett said the case is still under investigation as police attempt to contact victims and gather more information.
