Wrongful Death Man Pleads Not Guilty in Ark. Dispatcher’s Death

A man charged in the 2011 death of an Arkansas police dispatcher pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder on Monday.

Kevin Duck is accused of killing his girlfriend Dawna Natzke, a mother of three and a police dispatcher in the central Arkansas community of Hot Springs Village.

Duck appeared in court on Monday and pleaded not guilty, one of his attorneys, T. Clay Janske, said.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Janske said Duck did not kill Natzke, who was last seen leaving a Christmas party with Duck on Dec. 21, 2011. Volunteer searchers found Natzke’s body days later on New Year’s Eve.

Natzke, 46, died from blunt force trauma and drowning, according to an autopsy report cited in court documents.

A medical examiner said Natzke died within three to four hours of leaving the holiday party.

But prosecutors only recently charged Duck in Natzke’s death.

Prosecutor Steve Oliver said Monday that it took a long time for an FBI expert to analyze cellphone records. Oliver said the case also changed hands from the local police to the county sheriff’s office and then to his office, which conducted more interviews.

“When you take all those things in consideration, it just took a while to get there,” Oliver said.

Authorities arrested Duck, 30, last month in Colorado. He is being held in Garland County jail on $250,000 bond. Janske said Duck is set to have a bond hearing on Dec. 30.

Duck went to the Hot Springs Village police the day after the party and said Natzke was missing, according to court documents. He told authorities that he and Natzke left the party and drove to Natzke’s home.

“He stated he went to bed and Dawna left to go back to the party,” a probable cause document says. “He then states he got up on the morning of December 22, 2011, at 7:30 a.m. and neither Dawna nor her vehicle were at the house.”

A police dispatcher reached out to area hospitals and local law enforcement, but didn’t have any luck, according to the probable cause document.

Then, a police sergeant “advised Duck nothing more could be done and if the agency heard from Natzke, Duck would be notified,” according to the probable cause document.

Natzke didn’t show up for work on Dec. 23, and authorities opened a missing person’s case on her.

Hot Springs Village Police Chief Gary Adams declined to comment on Monday and referred questions to the local prosecutor.

Private Detective Pulaski County Teen Arrested for Bomb Threats

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Somerset teen accused of making threats against a Pulaski County school.

Investigators say a student at Southwestern High School received threatening text messages on Monday, suggesting a fellow student was planning to detonate fire bombs and shoot up the school. The texts contained some specific information as to where the bombs would be placed and a time frame for the detonations. There was no indication of the date the assault was to take place, investigators said.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

The sender of the text messages was identified by investigators as a 15-year-old Southwestern student.

The student admitted to detectives in an interview that he had in fact sent the messages, but could not explain to investigators why he sent them or suggest a motive for the threats.

The teen was taken into custody and charged with terroristic threatening first degree, a class C felony.

He was taken to the Adair County Juvenile Detention Center.

At this point, investigators believe the student was acting alone.

Pedophile Tracking Louisville Man Guilty of Producing Child Porn

A Louisville man pleaded guilty in United States District Court this week to charges of sexually abusing a minor under the age of 7 during the production of child pornography, announced David J. Hale, United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky.

According to the five-count indictment, Thomas Evan Middleton, age 50, sexually abused the minor female during the creation of pornography, while babysitting the minor at his home between August 2009 and May 2011.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

This case was initially brought by the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office (LAGO), who contacted law enforcement in Louisville, Kentucky, regarding a peer-to-peer investigation into Louisiana resident Robert Swan. The LAGO had previously executed a search warrant on Swan’s residence on January 30, 2013. During the review process of Swan’s electronic storage devices the LAGO discovered images of Swan and a then unknown individual engaged in the sexual exploitation of a minor. The unknown man had a cross tattoo on his right middle finger and was later identified as Thomas Middleton, through identifying information located on Swan’s computer. During the course of their investigation, thousands of digital images of child pornography were recovered, including images with Swan and Middleton sexually abusing a 4- to 5-year-old female.

On July 24, 2013, a federal search warrant was executed on Middleton’s residence. Several items in the residence appeared to be the same as items observed in some of the sexual abuse images found on Swan’s computer. During the execution of the search warrant, Middleton identified the child victim depicted in the pictures with him.

Middleton faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in prison and a combined maximum term of imprisonment of 250 years, a fine of $1,250,000, and a period of supervised release of at least five years and up to any number of years including life.

Middleton is scheduled for sentencing before Senior Judge Thomas B. Russell, on March 18, 2014, at 12:15 in Louisville.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney A. Spencer McKiness and is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by the United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims. Heyburn to one year probation for a single charge of misbranding, and the corporation, Bluegrass Women’s Healthcare, was sentenced and ordered to pay a fine of $25,000, announced David J. Hale, United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky. The defendant owner, Canh Jeff Vo, was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $50,663.31 to victims.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Vo, age 45, of Louisville, Kentucky, was the owner, supervising physician, and president at Bluegrass Women’s Healthcare between March 2008 and September 2009 when the violations occurred. Also, between March 2008 and September 2009, Bluegrass Women’s Healthcare received, brought, and imported into the United States IUDs, knowing that these were misbranded and unlawfully introduced into interstate commerce from various countries, including from Canada.
