Private Detective Lexington Police Look for Suspect Who Tried to Lure Girls into His Car

A warning for parents and children Monday after Lexington police are stepping up patrols because of two separate reports of a man attempting to lure girls into his truck just a week apart.

In both cases, the girls gave the same description of the man – the girls told police the man was in his mid-30’s, had dark hair with bags under his eyes.

Police say the man tried to lure two 11-year-old girls into his truck while they were at the playground behind the Millpond Shopping Center.

Lexington Police say the man was watching the two girls play from his dark red Dodge truck Saturday morning. They say he then asked one of the girls to come with him, and that’s when both girls ran to the front of the shopping center. Police say the man briefly followed them before driving away.

It’s a disturbing thought for any parent, especially when it’s happening in their backyard.

“It’s scary, very scary. And parents should talk to their children and tell them not to get into people’s vehicles,” said Lexington resident Judy Wiljanen.

That’s exactly what Lexington Police are warning after reports were made in the Millpond area. The first happened in August when a middle schooler was on her way to the bus stop when a man pulled up in a maroon pickup with chrome exhausts. She said the man told her he needed help finding his dog, but the girl didn’t take the bait and ran off.

Then on Saturday, just up the road form that first incident, two girls on the playground say a man tried to lure them into a truck with a matching description.

“What we need, most of all, is for parents to have that conversation with their kids about stranger danger.” said Sharelle Roberts with Lexington Police Department. “Teach your kids what to do if a stranger speaks to them or approaches them, and most importantly if they try to take them somewhere or lure them into a vehicle.”

While this is important, some parents still fear the man behind these reports.

“The kids are doing the right thing, but he’s bigger than them and could grab them and get them into the truck and something bad could happen,” Wiljanen said.

If you’ve seen the truck or notice anything suspicious, you’re asked to report it to police.

Private Detective Severed Human Foot Found in Shoe Along Beach

UPDATE 12:50 p.m. Sept. 16 – A bone that may be from a human has been found on Ocean Beach near the site of where a shoe containing a foot was discovered Sunday morning.

After initially recovering the shoe, National Park Police searched the area and found an additional bone, according to the Bay City News news service.

***

A severed human foot inside a running shoe washed up on Ocean Beach near Taraval Street Sunday morning.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

A Golden Gate National Recreation Area beach patrol found it after receiving a call from a beach visitor, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

“What we have is a human foot, with some associated tissue, inside of a shoe,” Mark Powning, an investigator with  San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office told the Chronicle.

It wasn’t clear how or when the foot and shoe got to Ocean Beach, but Powning said it didn’t seem to be the result of anything recent and “probably was rolling around the seabed for awhile.”

The shoe was a Puma brand, size 7 and 1/2, in green and black.

Private Detective Lincoln County Man Arrested on Kidnapping Charges

A Lincoln County man sits in jail this weekend accused of kidnapping and beating his ex-girlfriend and it may not be the first time he’s tried to do it.

According to the Interior Journal, Jesse James Abee was arrested after his ex-girlfriend, Juanita Snow, told police that he drug her out of a house by her hair, put her in a car and threatened her with a bat.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Snow says Abee hit her while he drove her out to a remote spot in the county saying he was going to kill her.

Abee’s case has already been waived to the grand jury.

Abee faced similar charges for cases in 2008 and 2009. Those charges were eventually dismissed.

Wrongful Death Philadelphia Couple Charged, 3 Year Old Starved to Death

A Philadelphia couple were charged Tuesday in the starvation death of their 3-year-old daughter, who weighed only 11 pounds, according to police.

“I saw the photos, they were extremely disturbing,” Philadelphia Police Homicide Capt. James Clark said of the girl at a news conference Monday.

Carlos Rivera, 30, and Carmen Ramirez, 27, brought their unresponsive daughter, Nathlayz Rivera, to Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia early Monday morning, where the child was pronounced dead at 1:59 a.m., according to Officer Jillian Russell.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Rivera and Ramirez were arraigned Tuesday afternoon on charges of third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, and conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child, according to Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Tasha Jamerson. Both parents are being held without bail, and their next court date is scheduled for September 25, Jamerson said.

According to officials at the Criminal Justice Information Center in Philadelphia, Rivera and Ramirez do not have legal representation and it’s unclear when they will.

Four other children — ages 9, 8, 7 and Nathlayz’s 3-year-old twin — lived at the couple’s residence. The children were taken to a local hospital where they were examined and then transported to the Philadelphia Department of Human Services on Monday, Russell said.

The mother told detectives that Nathlayz had Down syndrome, police told CNN affiliate WPVI.

According to Dr. Nicole Avena, a weight loss specialist at the New York Obesity Research Center, a typical weight range for a 3-year-old girl of average height is between 30 and 35 pounds. But it is not unusual for a child with disabilities to have feeding difficulties, which can lead to weight loss if not appropriately handled by a pediatrician, Avena said.

The Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office declined to comment due to the active police investigation.
