Austin Police Department Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Manuel Ramirez, last seen Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. He was last seen at 5802 Glen Meadow Dr.

Ramirez is described as:
• Hispanic male
• 5’02”
• 130 lbs.
• Shaved head
• Tattoo on left forearm of “Manuel”
• Thin build
• Spanish speaker only

Ramirez was last seen wearing blue pants, black shoes, and a gray and light blue short sleeved shirt, and a black hat.

Detectives are concerned for his well-being because of medical issues.

Individuals who may have information concerning Mr. Ramirez’ whereabouts are asked to call 9-1-1 or the Missing Person Unit at 512 974-5250. This case remains under investigation by the APD Missing Persons Unit.

A Pulaski County woman convicted in a murder case from 2011 in Rockcastle County was sentenced to 28 years in prison Friday.

Jessica Robinson, 22, along with Hanna Hunsucker and Bobby Peters, was charged with killing Jackie Bullock. Police say Bullock was shot to death in his car in December 2011 for a stash of illegal prescription pills.

Robinson was convicted of murder, complicity to commit robbery, complicity to manufacture meth and being a persistent felon. The jury deliberated the verdict for about two hours following a five-day trial.

Two other men have already been sentenced in the case.

The Vernon Police Department is investigating an adult missing person case and is looking for the public’s assistance in locating the man.

Vernon Police are searching for Michael Charles Poletti, age 47, whose last known address was 743 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, Connecticut. Michael Poletti was reported missing by a friend on August 28, 2013. Poletti has not been seen or heard from since August 21, 2013 when he last had contact with family and friends. Michael Poletti may be suffering from mental health issues and may be depressed.

Michael Poletti is a white male, approximately 5-foot-8 tall and approximately 170 pounds. He has black and gray hair and a beard.

A former school teacher facing multiple charges involving child exploitation following cybercrimes investigations in Kentucky and Ohio pleaded guilty in the case, it was announced Friday.

Thomas Sellers, 41, pleaded guilty last month in Boyd Circuit Court to seven counts of possession of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor, Class D felonies. The Commonwealth recommended Sellers serve ten years in prison. Sellers is expected to be sentenced on September 27.

The charges against Sellers stem from a 2012 undercover operation by the Ohio Attorney General’s office which identified a computer possessing images of child sexual exploitation. A subpoena revealed the Internet subscriber, who was identified as Sellers, lived in Catlettsburg, Ky. Agents from the Ohio Attorney General’s Computer Crimes Unit referred their findings to Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway’s Cybercrimes Unit for further investigation. Cybercrimes investigators executed a search warrant at Sellers’ home, and a forensic examination of his computer found 455 images and 325 videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children.

“The Internet is a safer place for Kentucky kids because of the efforts of my cybercrimes investigators and prosecutors,” General Conway said. “I appreciate their hard work to bring this case to a successful close.”

Since its creation in June of 2008, the Cybercrimes Unit has launched 341 child pornography investigations, seized more than 403,000 child pornographic images and videos from the Internet and has a 100 percent conviction rate. The unit is also a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force

A homicide investigation leads to one arrest following the discovery of a body buried in the backyard of a Lawton home.

Detectives arrived at 1717 N.W. Irwin Wednesday night to investigate a missing persons report. During the course of that investigation, officers obtained a search warrant for the house and yard. During a search of the premises, detectives believed a body was buried in the yard.

Thursday morning, the officers confirmed what they believed, that a body was in fact, buried in the backyard.

Police arrested one person at the Ranch Motel, located at 16th and Cache Road Thursday morning. The arrest is related to the body found. No names are being released at this time, pending a positive identification of the body.

This is the 13th homicide so far in Lawton for 2013.

Police say a London woman who photographed two children engaged in ‘sexually explicit conduct’ was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison Thursday.

On Tuesday, a judge sentenced 37-year-old Corrine Sherman for producing child pornography, possessing child pornography, and conspiracy.

Sherman’s husband and co-defendant, Rickey Sherman, died of a heart attack while in
custody in July, police say.

In February, a jury convicted both at trial. Evidence presented established that in 2008 and continuing throughout much of 2011, the Shermans conspired to produce child pornography. During that time period, the couple produced at least 40 images of two children engaged in sexually explicit conduct, police say.

The investigation started when state authorities received a tip that Rickey Sherman
had violated conditions of his probation from a previous offense. police say. During that investigation, polie say Corrine Sherman attempted to hide a camera from law enforcement. The camera was eventually recovered and contained the child pornography images, they said.

Rickey Sherman had owned Truck Town Repair in Laurel County. He and his wife
were indicted in September 2011. Under federal law, Corrine Sherman will have to serve at least 85 percent of her prison sentence.

The investigation was conducted by the London Police Department and the FBI.
