Missing Person North Carolina Woman Missing After Leaving Knoxville

Family members and friends are worried about the safety of a woman who has not returned home after leaving Knoxville earlier this week.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says 39-year-old Holly Fischer was reported missing by her father, Ted Fischer, of Knoxville.

Fischer told deputies his daughter was emotional and upset because of a divorce when she left his Knoxville home on Monday. She was heading back to her home in Charlotte, N.C. Even so, Fischer’s childhood friend told WSOC, the Charlotte ABC affiliate it’s unlike her to leave without telling anyone.

“There is something going on, there is a piece of the puzzle missing,” said Liz Stafford, her friend.

According to the father, Holly Fischer’s roommate contacted him on Wednesday, telling him that Holly never returned to their North Carolina apartment.

Holly Fischer is described as a white female, 39 years old, 5’10” and weighs about 140 pounds. She was last seen in Newport wearing a white blouse, blue jean shorts and sandals.

North Carolina authorities think she may be driving a silver 2004 Infiniti FX35 with North Carolina license plate XYH6678.

If you have any information about Fischer you are asked to call 911.

Pedophile Tracking California Man Faces 65 Years

A California man faces 65 years in prison after being convicted of molesting a boy for nearly a year.

The Contra Costa Times reports (http://bit.ly/18CH7Xf) 42-year-old Christopher Miller was found guilty this week of 29 child molestation counts.

Prosecutors say Miller moved into a townhouse four years ago after meeting its owner in a pedophile chat room. Miller eventually moved into the home of two brothers, whose mother was disabled, and authorities say he molested one of them five nights a week.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

He had been convicted four separate times on multiple counts of child pornography, theft and other charges since 1995. Prosecutors say Miller avoided possible molestation charges and stiffer sentences because child victims declined to testify.

Miller is scheduled to be sentenced June 27.

The other suspect, 40-year-old Dayna Huntsman, was found to have an extensive criminal record involving identity theft, burglary and fraud, police said.

Both suspects were booked into Solano County jail.

Police said Thursday they are continuing to investigate the case to determine the extent of the alleged fraud and identify more victims.

Missing Person Jamie Richardson of Wilmington, Delaware

Wilmington police are seeking the public’s help in obtaining any information on the disappearance of a city man who has been missing now for more than a year.

Jamir Richardson, 31, was last seen May 14, 2012, in the 1100 block of E. Seventh St.

Family members, who are looking for closure in the missing-persons case, said Richardson was depressed at the time of his disappearance and had sent text messages to members of his family indicating that he was suicidal, Cpl. Jamaine Crawford said.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

About the same time that he was reported missing, witnesses reported that someone was seen jumping into the Christina River. Emergency workers combed the river looking for the person but failed to find anyone.

Investigators have pursued several leads in the past year without success, said Crawford, who added the investigation is ongoing.

When he was last seen, Richardson was wearing an orange shirt and blue denim pants. He is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 195 pounds.

Identity Theft Stockton, CA Woman Stole IDs of 300 People

Alisha Terese Rodriguez, 35, of Stockton, was indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday with identity theft related charges.

Rodriguez pleaded not guilty in federal court to charges of being a felon in possession of firearm, credit application fraud, bank fraud, aggravated identification theft, access device fraud and possession for fraudulent use of identification documents of others.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

Authorities said the elaborate identity theft scheme has been going on since last August. Rodriquez’s neighbors said it suddenly makes sense.

“She was quiet, the garage was always closed,” neighbor Rocher Paul said.

Rodriguez lived in the Otto Drive home with her three young kids. Neighbors said she’d only been there for about a month and kept to herself, but always had strange visitors stopping by.

Federal authorities searched her home on May 9.

“I hear the noise when (they were) pounding the door because the door is so close,” Paul explained.

Authorities said Rodriguez had personal and financial information on more than 300 people. They also said she developed a “sophisticated bank fraud scheme”.

According to the federal complaint, Rodriguez stole other people’s identities to open new credit card accounts they weren’t aware of. Then, after racking up massive credit card bills, she’d pay them off by transferring large amounts of cash from other victims’ bank accounts.

“We were surprised,” Paul said. “Especially when you see the Postal Service because it’s a federal crime”

In all, she’s accused of stealing about $200,000.

“It’s kinda scary,” neighbor Anthony Hopkins said. “You see people go and come, but you never know what their secret lifestyle is about.”

The criminal complaint said Rodriguez confessed and said she knew her actions were “wrong and illegal.”

Federal authorities said Rodriguez also told them that her friends gave her the victims’ personal information in the “form of medical records.”

These charges do not sit well with Hopkins, who has been a victim of identity theft.

“To know people can have your information that easily and use it against you,” Hopkins said. “It’s scary.”

Authorities said they also found meth and drug paraphernalia in Rodriguez’s home.

Rodriguez is scheduled to appear before judge on June 19, 2013. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison for the felon in possession charge, 30 years in prison for bank fraud, 10 years in prison for access device fraud and 20 years in prison for possession of ID of others.

A former employee at the Kansas City water department has pleaded guilty to taking part in a scam that defrauded an insurance member benefit program out of about $300,000.

The U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri said in a release Thursday that 31-year-old Michael King of Kansas City pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of wire fraud.

http://liarcatchers.com/insurance_fraud.html
