Wrongful Death Wanted South Carolina Man Arrested in FL

A South Carolina man suspected of killing two women in Clarendon and Charleston counties and suspected of killing another woman who is missing has been caught.

Jeffery Eady, 31, of 1054 527 Subdivision Road, was arrested Saturday night in Mexico Beach, Fla. Clarendon County authorities said the vehicle investigators believe the suspect was driving was found in Bay County, Fla., after a car chase and a wreck. Officers then pursued the suspect on foot and apprehended him.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

A weapon officers think was used in both known South Carolina killings was recovered earlier Saturday in Panama City, Fla.

Eady is suspected of killing Clarendon County recycling center employee Maybell White, 65, and a convenience store clerk in Charleston County. He also is a person of interest in the missing persons case of Sadie Brown, 77, of the Oakdale community of New Zion in Clarendon County. Brown is believed dead and authorities were continuing to search late Saturday night for her body.

Investigators think Brown’s body is in a heavily wooded area, less than three miles from where she lived, near where her vehicle was found early Friday. She was reported missing Thursday. White’s body was found later the same day at the 527 Subdivision Road recycling center, the same area where Brown lived.

Clarendon County Sheriff Randy Garrett said Eady is being charged with murder, grand larceny, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and credit card fraud. He also will be charged with murder by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators on Friday were able to link the weapon used in White’s killing to the shooting death of Charleston County convenience store employee Crystal Johnson.

Officers from Clarendon and Charleston counties were flying Saturday night to Florida.

Eady also is suspected of robbing a convenience store in Macon, Ga., and later trying to cash in stolen lottery tickets.

According to the Associated Press, Eady served 10 years in state prison for armed robbery. Toward the end of his sentence, he cut off an electronic monitoring device and was sent back to prison to serve the remainder of his term and was released in October.

Identity Theft Officer and Roommate Arrested in Baltimore

Baltimore Police Officer Ashley Roane, 25, from Pikesville, Md., was arrested on the morning of May 31 and charged with helping a local heroin dealer by providing armed, uniformed security for drug transactions, offering advance notice of search warrants, and, using police databases to check for informants.

Additionally, according a release from the FBI, Roane and her roommate, Erica Hughes, also age 25 of Pikesville, were both charged with aggravated identity theft in connection with a scheme in which Roane used a police database to obtain the names of victims to be used to obtain fraudulent tax refunds.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

“The allegations represent an appalling violation of the public trust by an officer who took an oath to serve the public but used her police powers to serve herself,” said U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein.

“The complaint alleges that Officer Ashley Roane agreed to help a drug dealer find a safe place to sell heroin in Baltimore and provide early warnings before police executed search warrants, that she provided armed security for drug deals while in uniform in her patrol car and that she checked a police database to identify informants. In a separate identity fraud scheme, she allegedly used a police database to obtain names, birth dates, and Social Security numbers that could be used to obtain fraudulent tax refunds from the IRS.”

“This case was discovered and investigated by members of a joint Baltimore Police and FBI anti-corruption task force and re-emphasizes my commitment to rooting out corruption within the Baltimore Police Department,” said Police Commissioner Anthony W. Batts. My message to the people of our city is we are not finished—we will continue to relentlessly target corruption and misconduct among the ranks.”

A confidential source provided information regarding alleged criminal activity being conducted by Roane and her roommate Erica Hughes.

That source advised law enforcement that in the fall of 2012, Roane had spoken to the source regarding drug trafficking and had told the source that if the source, whom Roane believed was a large scale heroin trafficker in Baltimore, wanted to sell drugs in the area where she patrolled, Roane would provide the source with a location that is not heavily concentrated with police.

Additionally, Roane told the source that she could provide him with information regarding police activity, specifically when and where drug search warrants would be executed.

The confidential source allegedly paid Roane $500 for her protection; and Roane agreed to provide such protection again in a future narcotics transaction involving multiple kilograms of heroin.

Ashley Roane faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison for possession with intent to distribute heroin, and a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum of life in prison for possession of a gun in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Roane and Hughes face a mandatory sentence of two years in prison, consecutive to any other sentence imposed, for aggravated identity theft.

Roane and Hughes will remain in jail pending an initial appearance scheduled for June 3, 2013, in U.S. District Court in Baltimore.

Wrongful Death Body of Missing Missouri Mom Found

The body of a Missouri mother who went missing nearly two years ago was recovered by law enforcement Wednesday, according to the Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney.

Jacque Sue Waller, a 39-year-old mother of triplets, was last seen alive on June 1, 2011 at her estranged husband Clay Waller’s home following a meeting with an attorney about their pending divorce. On the afternoon she disappeared, police say Jacque told family members she was going to pick up her son from her husband’s home.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Jacque’s car was found on the shoulder of I-55 in Jackson, Missouri the next day with a flat tire. Police said an examination of the car revealed the tire had been punctured multiple times while sitting stationary.

In April 2012, Waller was charged with first-degree murder and two counts of tampering with evidence in connection with his wife’s disappearance.

Police said in court documents that Jacque previously told friends and family that her husband had repeatedly threatened to kill her and their children if she attempted to leave him. Inside Jacque’s abandoned car, police found her laptop containing her personal diary. In it, Jacque wrote, “’He told me that a divorce would be my death sentence,’” according to an April 17, 2012 probable cause statement for Clay Waller’s arrest.

Authorities at the Jackson Police Department say Waller spoke to them a few hours after his wife was reported missing and gave his account of what happened the day his wife vanished. Court documents state Waller initially told police Jacque had left his home on foot following an argument, but at some point she returned to the house to use the bathroom. Waller told police he left the house after the fight, and when he returned Jacque and her car were gone.

During a search of Waller’s home, investigators said they found blood evidence on the hallway walls, as well as on cut-up pieces of carpet located in the house’s crawl space. Analysis confirmed that the blood samples collected from the home contained a DNA profile that matched Jacque, police said in court documents.

In July 2011, Waller spoke with police again about the circumstances of his wife’s disappearance. According to court documents, Waller now told police Jacque came to his home that day to have sex and discuss the issue of bankruptcy.

According to a probable cause statement, Waller told police Jacque accidentally injured herself at the house and started bleeding “a lot.” After Jacque cleaned herself up from the accident, Waller allegedly said they began to argue and he threw Jacque’s car keys in the air toward the driveway where they got stuck in a tree. He said Jacque then walked to a friend’s house on foot.

Documents state Waller told police he used a broom handle to retrieve Jacque’s keys and placed them on the windshield of her car. Waller allegedly said he then left the home and drove around the Cape Girardeau area for the next few hours.

Police say Waller admitted to cutting the bloody carpet found in his crawl space into pieces and concealing it beneath the house in order to keep it from being found. According to police, Waller denied being responsible for Jacque’s death.

HLN reached out to Waller’s attorney Christopher Davis for a comment Thursday and Friday, but calls were not returned.

“Because this is an on-going investigation and involves a pending criminal case, there will be no further comment from this office or any other agency,” the Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney said in a news release Thursday.

A message on the Find Jacque S Waller Facebook page posted Thursday said:

“It is with a heavy heart I deliver this message. Our daughter, mother, sister and friend has been found. God has planned everything well to place us in this very moment. God guided the law enforcement officials, searchers, K9s and most of all the prayers being sent to the prison to weigh heavily on clays mind. We thank everyone of you who has supported us and assisted us in this terrible nightmare. We have no arrangements as of yet but we will be able to lay our Jacque Sue to rest….finally. God Bless you all!”

Waller is currently serving a five-year prison sentence on a federal conviction for making threats over the internet to Jacque’s sister.

At his arraignment hearing last August, Waller entered a not guilty plea to the murder and two evidence tampering charges. His murder trial is scheduled to start in September.

Wrongful Death Body of Toddler Found in Ohio, Mother and Boyfriend Arrested in KY

On June 1, 2013 ABC News 8 reported on the discovery of Garin Niehaus’s remains in southern Ohio, but this update comes with more news. His mother and her boyfriend were arrested in the state of Ky., and both are facing charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. The one-year-old child had been missing since December of 2012 (as far as his father was aware), but it is unknown as to how long the child had been dead.

This is truly a disturbing case that is reminiscent of the Case Anthony case. Like little Caylee Marie Anthony, Garin Niehaus had been missing for an unknown amount of time, but was never reported missing. It seems that his body was concealed by Whitney Johnson and her boyfriend Nathan Ritze — who is also reportedly an AWOL fugitive of the U.S. Armed Forces.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

The child’s cause of death is unknown, but an autopsy is scheduled to take place. It’s also unknown as to where the child’s remains were found, but it’s reported that officials were seen searching a wooded area in Ohio shortly before the grim discovery was announced. It’s likely that the little boy had been buried, but no sources have confirmed this. It’s also not known whether or not the remains were decomposed badly. When the week begins more information may be made available.

Missing Person Lakewood, CO Man Victim of Foul Play

Police detectives in Lakewood believe a man who disappeared on May 19 is a victim of foul play.

Dave Noren’s roommate has been arrested in Arizona on unrelated charges but he has been labeled a “person of interest” in Noren’s disappearance.

Police officers with Lakewood said they did get the chance to talk to Hicks while he was still in Colorado in the days after Noren’s disappearance.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Police served out a search warrant at Noren’s, 45, home on Wednesday. He shares that home with a roommate, Ryan Hicks.

Forensic evidence recovered from the residence at 863 Depew Street leads detectives to believe that Noren was most likely the victim of foul play.

Crime scene tape continues to surround the home.

“We collected evidence that would show us, A: there was a struggle and B: there was forensic evidence that indicates Mr. Noren was probably the victim of foul play and most likely suffered some pretty serious injuries,” said Lakewood Police spokesman Steve Davis.

Noren was last seen at The Pub on West Colfax Avenue. Workers there say he was a regular and they noticed when he didn’t show up. For all those who know Noren, they say no news means something is wrong.

His employer, Mike Matchinsky, at BCT Wholesale Printing in Denver called police when he didn’t show up to work. He said when Noren didn’t show up, they went to his home where they found his car and his beloved dog, Olivia.

Matchinsky and other coworkers of Noren’s spent Friday canvassing the Lakewood neighborhood where he lives. They handed out fliers to neighbors in hopes that someone might know something.

“Right now we’re kind of grasping at anything we can get in terms of information,” said Matchinsky.

Matchinsky said although he’s never met Hicks in person, “I’ve never met him but it sounds like he’s just a very reserved, stoic individual.”

Matchinsky said Noren is more than just an employee, “He’s a friend. He’s a life long friend, he came to my wedding.”

Detectives also believe that Noren’s cell phone was in the area of 6th Ave. and Simms/Union for several hours beginning on the early morning of May 20 until sometime in the afternoon of May 21.

“Mr. Noren’s cell phone was in the area of 6th and Simms for almost 40 hours from early morning on the 20th until late afternoon on the 21st. We were pinging his cell phone and we know it was there,” said Davis.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have found a Samsung Galaxy cell phone in that area to call the Lakewood Police Department with that information.

Police said they’re not done talking to Hicks.

“We have not cleared him of any involvement in this disappearance of Mr. Noren,” said Davis.

“Wherever he disappeared to it’s not right, whatever is going on is not right,” said Matchinsky.

If you have any information about Mr. Noren’s whereabouts or information which would be helpful to detectives are asked to call the Lakewood Police Department at 303-987-7111.
