Frisco Police say Philip and a 15-year-old boy not being identified because of his age were messing around in their neighborhood on March 24. They are accused of setting fire to cardboard inside a vacant house at 15178 Beckley Lane, which is south of Eldorado Parkway. The fire totally destroyed the house. Damages were estimated at $250,000. They are also accused of setting a second fire at 11239 Ashley Drive that was started with Sheetrock and insulation. The fire caused about $500 in damage to a media room. A third fire at 15196 Bardwell Lane was confined to a living room fireplace and caused no damage, according to police

Missing Person Body Found in 1996 Identified as Chico, CA Woman

The body of a woman found by a jet skier in the Sacramento River in 1996 has been identified as that of a Chico woman who disappeared four months earlier.

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office said a DNA match from her parents led to the identification of Victorene “Vicki” Lee Pyrskalla, who was 42 when she was reported missing from her home on Taffee Avenue in Chico in January 1996.

Investigators called her disappearance suspicious based on evidence found at the home.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

After reviewing its cold case files, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office submitted DNA from Pyrskalla’s parents to the California Department of Justice Bureau of Forensic Services in January to be entered into the Missing Person database.

The Department of Justice did not allow familial DNA samples to be entered prior to 2006, said Butte County Sheriff’s Lt. Al Smith.

The Yolo County Coroner had entered a DNA sample from the unidentified body in 2002, according to Smith.

The match came back May 17.

When the body was located near a boat launch on the Sacramento River above Sacramento in May 1996, drowning was listed as the probable cause of death.

The investigation into circumstances that led to the death of Vicki Pyrskalla is continuing.

“We’re not convinced it was an accident,” Smith said.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Butte County Sheriff’s Detective Pat McNelis at 530-538-7671.

Missing Person Search Continues for Missing Iowa Teen

The search continues on Wednesday for an Iowa teen that was allegedly abducted by a man that committed suicide.

On Monday, Kathlynn Shepard, 15, and another unidentified 12-year-old girl were abducted from a Dayton bus stop, after they accepted a ride from a man, according to the 12-year-old girl. The 12-year-old girl managed to escape later that day, but Shepard is still missing.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

A man named Patrick told KCCI News he heard a noise like a wounded animal and found a girl crying and she told him that she had escaped from somebody. The girl later told authorities that the man had taken them to an agricultural facility, reports CBS news.

Later that same day, Michael Klunder, 42, a registered sex offender was found dead in a rural Dayton area. Klunder had served time for assaulting a woman and abducting two toddlers from an apartment complex in Charles City, according to the Mason City Globe Gazette. The toddlers were later found in alive in a dumpster.

Shepard’s backpack and purse were found on Tuesday in the 400 block of Pilot Mound and Fraser by a farmer searching his property.

There is speculation whether Klunder was involved in the abduction and murder of two Evandsale girls, Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook. Authorities stated it was too early in the investigation to know.

Missing Person Asheville, NC Man Found in Greenville County, SC

An elderly man missing from an Asheville assisted living center since last week was found alive Monday in a wooded area in Greenville County, S.C.

A passerby found Albert Francis Parsons, 76, in his car Monday afternoon off U.S. 25 and notified authorities, Greenville County sheriff’s Master Deputy Jonathan Smith said. Parsons, who has family members in Upstate South Carolina, had parked his car in a wooded area near Gap Creek Road.

The person who found Parsons initially thought he was deceased because he was unresponsive, Smith said.

Parsons was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he was in intensive care Tuesday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Parsons after he disappeared Friday from an assisted living center where he had been living at 138 Springside Drive in Asheville.

Parsons was believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, authorities said.

Pedophile Tracking Alabama Man Convicted

The Etowah County District Attorney says a retired naval religious programs specialist has been convicted of sexually abusing a child.

District Attorney Jimmie Harp said Tuesday that William Hammond, of Southside, was convicted last week after the Court of Criminal Appeals reversed his conviction from February 2011.

The victim told investigators she was hired to babysit Hammond’s children and he began molesting her shortly after she started working for him. Harp says the molestation lasted for about six months when the girl was 15 years old.

Hammond was found guilty of rape, sodomy and sexual abuse. Harp says he faces up to 99 years or life in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced in August.

Wrongful Death Man Charged in Death of Maine Teen

When 15-year-old Nichole Cable left home May 12, she told her family she was heading out to see someone she’d met on Facebook.

The high school sophomore never came back.

Now, a 20-year-old man faces charges in her death after a body believed to be the missing teen’s was found in a wooded area north of Bangor.

Kyle Dube, of Orono, was charged with murder Tuesday, a day after the remains were found in Old Town, Maine State Police Lt. Christopher Coleman said at a news conference.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Police declined to reveal the circumstances of her death, describe her relationship with Dube or discuss the evidence they have against him. Nor was it clear whether her Facebook relationship had anything to do with her disappearance and homicide.

More details were expected to emerge once police submit an affidavit of probable cause, which could happen as early as Wednesday, when Dube is due to make his first court appearance in the case.

Dube was already in jail serving a sentence for fleeing police on a motorcycle at more than 100 mph, according to state police. Stephen McCausland, a state police spokesman, said investigators believe Dube is “solely responsible for her death.”

Tyler-Ann Harris, 16, who described herself as Nichole’s best friend, said Tuesday that Dube and Nichole had met a couple of months earlier and planned to see each other the weekend she vanished, before he had to report to jail.

Harris, who attended Old

Town High School with Nichole, said she had never met Dube and wasn’t sure of his relationship with her friend. But she said Nichole didn’t fear him.

“She was really happy even though she went through a lot of hard stuff in her life. She always knew how to see the bright side of things,” Harris said, dabbing her eyes with a tissue. “She didn’t always get along with people, and she had an attitude. But that’s a teenage girl. And she was just happy all the time.”

Dube’s parents live in a tidy brick and white-sided house in Orono. A young man who answered the door said the family didn’t want to talk and closed the door firmly in a reporter’s face.

Dube’s attorney, Stephen Smith, did not immediately return a call for comment.

Dube had worked for The Getchell Agency, an organization that cares for people with disabilities in Bangor, since June until he quit last week. The agency’s CEO, Rena Getchell, said in an email to The Associated Press that his background check and employee reviews were satisfactory.

“He gave us no reason to believe that he might be capable of this crime,” she said. “This is devastating news to us as we truly are a family.”

The body believed to be Nichole’s was found about 9:30 p.m. Monday by a warden who was searching the woods with a dog, officials said. The medical examiner took possession to make a positive identification and issue a ruling on how she died.

Nichole’s mother, Kristine Wiley, said after she disappeared that Nichole had said she was going out to meet someone she knew from Facebook. But Wiley said she didn’t know the identity of the person.

Dozens of law enforcement officers, using aircraft and dogs, and hundreds of civilian volunteers spent days searching for the teen, who lived in Glenburn.

“This initially started as a missing person’s case and sadly it’s transitioned to a homicide investigation,” said Penobscot County Sheriff Glenn Ross.

He urged parents to keep an eye on their children’s online activities.

“This reminds us that parents should have oversight of Internet activities of their children. They should monitor what’s going on and then use normal precautions that we all know, as far as how much information we provide,” Ross said.

Cable’s stepfather, Jason Wiley, said Tuesday that he and Kristine Wiley were still processing Tuesday’s news and would take reporters’ questions on Wednesday.

Missing Person Case in Bakersfield, CA Turns into Homicide Investigation

A missing person case is now a homicide investigation. Bakersfield police say they found Kelly Gill’s body hidden inside the home where he lived, a day after he was reported missing. Officers arrested his 18-year-old roommate, Theron Ausbie, for homicide and robbery.

Gill’s sister, Dickey Sue Martinez, says she thinks her younger brother died over money.

“I’m thinking it’s Theron Ausbie. He had a plot to kill my brother,” said Martinez.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Martinez’s brother, Kelly Gill, was found dead inside his home on Castro Lane.

Bakersfield police say they got the tip Monday night after Gill’s sister reported him missing Sunday.

Martinez let a 17 News camera inside the home and into the room where she says Ausbie, was staying. She says police found Gill’s body inside Ausbie’s closet.

“He knew he had a lot of money on him and he kept telling ’em, I’m going to kill your brother or not kill him, but he said do away with him. My brother kept telling me he heard this and I said I think you are just misunderstanding him. And, he’s gone,” said Martinez.

Martinez says her brother always carried at least $1,000 on him. He collected Social Security and Disability from a severe case of Wilson’s Disease. And, Bakersfield police confirmed Gill was robbed of his cash.

Martinez says Monday, Ausbie bought a car for $700, but it stopped running after he brought it home.

“So he was probably going to put him in the car and dump him off somewhere,” said Martinez.

Court records show since Ausbie became an adult, he has pleaded guilty to possession of stolen property and served three days in jail for second degree burglary.

And, neighbors say police frequented the house.

“Always,” said Johnny Craig, who lives across the street. “I mean look at it. It looks like a bomb went off there. And, there’s constant criminal activity over there every day, every night.”

Theron Ausbie is set to be arraigned for suspicion of homicide and robbery Wednesday.
