The woman who found the wallet of a missing California woman in a shopping center parking lot came forward on Friday.

Susan Jacobson, 59, from Roseville, in Sacramento County left her home on Wednesday, May 1, to run errands and pick up groceries. She never returned and her car and wallet were found abandoned in a parking lot.

Wednesday night the Roseville Police found Susan’s car parked at Raley’s, the grocery story she usually shops at on Pleasant Grove Boulevard and Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard.

Then on Thursday, the Roseville Police were seeking the identity of a woman that found Jacobson’s wallet in the same Raley parking lot and returned it to a Starbucks on Wednesday, reported CBS Local news. The woman was identified on Friday, and wanted to remain anonymous but did state that she found the wallet with other papers.

“I just saw business cards and stuff all over the sidewalk, and then I realized there was a purple wallet there with it, so I bent down and first thing I saw was her driver’s license,” the woman told CBS Sacramento.

Detectives are asking for anyone who may have seen Jacobson during the past few days, or who has information that might help in finding her to call the Roseville police dispatch center at (916) 774-5000, ext. 1.

Missing Person Long Hill, NJ Woman

Police are canvassing door-to-door Saturday as part of continuing search efforts for a Long Hill woman who has been missing since Wednesday evening, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Authorities, however, are pulling back on the ground search for 34-year-old Carrie Ruffner in the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge today.

Morris County First Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Zelante said in an email Saturday the ground search of the park is “not as extensive as (the) last two days,” and that there are no new developments.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Over the past two days, police officers, helicopters, dogs and others searched the swamp for Ruffner after she failed to return as expected to her parents’ Basking Ridge home after leaving it around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Zelante told NJ.com Thursday a neighbor saw Ruffner at her own home around 8 p.m., but she never returned to her parents’ house after that. Her father came to Ruffner’s home around midnight, and alerted local police after he couldn’t locate her, Zelante said.

Ruffner’s Meyersville Road home had been blocked off with police tape Thursday.

Ruffner’s two children are safe and currently staying with a relative, Zelante has also said.

Ruffner is 5 feet and 7 inches in height, 130 pounds with hazel eyes and blonde hair. She is described as having an athletic build and broad shoulders.

Ruffner, whose maiden name is Vreeland, was last seen wearing a black jacket and black slacks, the prosecutor’s office said.

Anyone with information regarding Ruffner’s whereabouts is asked to call the Long Hill Township Police Department at 908-647-1800.

This past January, Ruffner’s husband, Eduardo Ruffner-Arizmendi, died at the age of 35 following a 10-year battle with cancer, according to his obituary.

A list of marriage and engagement announcements maintained on the Bernardsville library’s website indicates that Carrie Vreeland and Eduardo Ruffner previously announced their wedding date in the Bernardsville News as May 14, 2005.

Martine Vilain, who lives on the bottom half of the two-family home where Ruffner lives, told the Daily Record Ruffner recently appeared sadder than usual.

“I think she was was very distraught over Ed’s death,” Vilain told the paper.

A 17-year-old Long Beach boy was arrested for allegedly killing a 42-year-old man and then setting a sports utility vehicle on fire with the victim inside.

The unidentified suspect turned himself in to authorities April 27 and was being held without bail at juvenile hall. Murder charges were filed against him Friday by the DA’s office.

On April 23, sheriff’s deputies and fire officials responded to a call about a vehicle on fire in the 30100 block of Miraleste Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

When the blaze was extinguished, a body was discovered with the feet bound together and a cord wrapped around the neck.

The victim was later identified as Christopher Waters of Long Beach.

Police believe the suspect killed Waters in Long Beach before he drove the victim to Rancho Palos Verdes and set the vehicle ablaze.

The motive of the killing is unknown.

The relationship, if any, between the victim and suspect is unclear.

Missing Person Father of Missing Concord, NC Mom Offers Award

The father of a Concord mother who disappeared last August is offering a $10,000 reward for information helping solve his daughter’s missing-person case.

Rick Morrison is joining with the CUE Center for Missing Persons in an effort to find Crystal Morrison.

The reward is being offered during a 10-day period that started at noon Friday and ends at midnight May 13. The reward will be paid upon discovery of Crystal Morrison, her father says.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Crystal Morrison, 31, a single mother of one child, was last seen leaving her job at midday Aug. 23, 2012, at Connextions Recruiting. Witnesses reported seeing her walking on International Drive, then turning onto N.C. 73, headed toward U.S. 29. She was not seen again.

Concord police conducted several searches, and in January, her family joined with the Wilmington-based CUE Center on a search that included men on horseback in the Cabarrus County area where she was last seen. But no trace of Morrison has been found.

Police say her cell phone and bank card were not used after she disappeared.

Rick Morrison said the reward is being offered now because Sunday is his daughter’s 32nd birthday — and because Mothers Day is a week away.

“I think of my daughter every day — however, the special occasions bring a reminder and reality of her absence,” Morrison said. “It makes all of this even more difficult.”

CUE founder Monica Caison said her organization “does not give up.”

“We are here for the long haul,” Caison added. “We will continue to support the family and assist in search efforts with law officials for Crystal Morrison.”

People with information can remain anonymous and are encouraged to contact Concord police, 704-920-5000. They also can contact the CUE Center, which has a 24-hour line, 910-232-1687.

“We need a resolution to this nightmare,” Rick Morrison said.

Crystal Morrison is a white female, 5 feet 3 and 100 pounds, with blondish-red hair and blue eyes. She has a tattoo on the back of her neck (“Kyson”) and one on her lower back (a design swirl). She wears contacts and dentures. She was last seen wearing black slacks and black heels.
