The Lawrence Police Department in Lawrenceville, NJ is attempting to locate Vernon F. Melville who was reported missing by his family on September 15. Melville is a black male, 87 years old, approximately 5’7” tall, weighing 150 pounds.
Melville was last seen on September 15 in Lawrenceville, wearing a plaid shirt, tan jacket, and a hat. Melville wears glasses and walks with a cane. He told a neighbor he was going for a walk around the block and has not returned.
Melville is believed to be carrying a wallet with identification. He does not own any vehicles. He has been known to travel by bus in the past. Melville has family in Virginia, Texas, and New Jersey. He has not attempted to contact any family members as of September 16.
Melville has a cell phone with him. A signal was received from that cell phone in the Baltimore, Md. area on September 15. A second signal was received from Wilmington, Del. on September 16. Melville is on blood pressure medication and does not have his medication with him. He has been entered into the National Crime Information Center as a missing person.
