Identity Theft Woodburn, OR Bookkeeper Arrested

A Woodburn bookkeeper was arrested for identity theft and computer crimes for using company funds to pay her personal bills Wednesday evening, officials said.

On several occasions since 2009, Jessica Lynn Koch used a company credit card to pay her bills online and used a company check to pay for her utility bills, said Marion County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Don Thomson. Loss to the company was $3,200, he said.

Koch was cited for 31 counts of identity theft, 2 counts of theft and 11 counts of computer crime. Koch had no prior criminal record.

The 37-year-old worked as a bookkeeper for Bear Electric in Donald from 2006-12. A three-month investigation into missing money at Bear revealed the thefts after she left the company in June, Thomson said.

Koch will appear in Marion County Circuit Court on February 6
