Identity Theft Suspects Arrested in Fresno

A stolen luxury car leads police to a team of identity theft and burglary suspects.

It started Monday around noon when a woman spotted a car pulling up to her neighbor’s home near the area of Peach and Church in Southeast Fresno.

The suspects broke in and started ransacking the home.

Investigators say they were not just robbing the home but were also looking to steal identities.

Sgt. Tim Tietjen with the Fresno Police Department said, “As they go through the house they actually are going to take anything computers or paperwork with your identities on them.”

The suspects loaded the stolen merchandise into a convertible BMW parked in the garage.

The suspects drove off in the stolen car but were soon arrested.

Officers see a pattern. The big thing that they’re getting from these cars is the computers where you have your personal information on there, and they’re using that information for credit cards, whatever they do for identity theft.

A man and three juveniles were taken in to custody.

Police believe they may be linked to other burglaries in the area.

Fresno police say you should call if you see any suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
