Missing Person Search Continues for Corbin Man

Two weeks have passed since Ricky Melton has been seen or heard from.

The 27-year old Corbin man was reported missing by family members on Friday, July 26, and they say there’s no word yet if he’s been found.

Melton lived in an apartment on Higgins Street, in the Gordon Hill neighborhood.

Kentucky State Police in London is working the missing person case, and on Friday, nothing new has happened.

“I talked with the investigating officer, Trooper Tony Dingess, and he said nobody’s heard from the man, and there are still no new leads. He was last seen by a neighbor and family members on July 26,” said Public Affairs Officer Trooper Lloyd Cochran.

Cochran added that Dingess is following all leads, and does not suspect foul play at this time.

Ricky’s twin brother, Jody Melton, confirmed July 26 as the last day they heard from him.

“My dad talked to him on the phone, and my wife talked to him on Facebook. He was definitely OK at the time. My wife asked him if everything was fine and Ricky said to her that it was. My younger brother went to his apartment a few days later and his car was there, all his clothes were there, one of his cell phones were there and everything looked okay. Nothing out of the ordinary,” Jody said.

On Wednesday, family members posted a $500 reward for information leading to where Ricky is. Jody confirmed Friday that the amount has now been raised to $1,500.

But for now, he admitted all the family can do is wait for word on his twin brother’s whereabouts.

“It’s a bad time. We’ve been hoping that he’ll show back up, and we know somebody’s got to know something about where he’s at. We’re begging for information. Information and prayers are all that we can go on right now,” he stated.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of Ricky Melton, call KSP-London at 606- 878-6622, or Jody Melton at 606-260-2929.
