Missing Person Body of UT Man Found

Dee Ray Humphries, 83, of Millard County, UT was reported missing July 13, 2013 and was found dead in Churchill County on Aug. 17.

He was reported to have been driving a red Toyota Corolla and was possibly en route to the Stockton, CA area. On August 16th, around 11:30 AM the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle with the driver’s door open and cobwebs around it. The Sheriff’s Office responded approximately 50 miles east of Fallon and located the vehicle on a dirt road 3.3 miles south of state Route 722 between Hwy. 50 and the Eastgate community. The vehicle was registered to Humphries. Evidence indicated the vehicle, which was still in drive, had run out of gas and Humphries had activated the emergency flashers, exited the vehicle and walked away. Evidence at the scene also indicated the vehicle had been at that location for an extended period of time.

There is no evidence of foul play. Humphries, according to the missing person bulletin, suffered from dementia.
