A body has been found in a wooded area north of Roland, Okla., but there has been no determination whether it is the body of a person who recently went missing in the area, Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart said Monday (Sept. 2).

The Sheriff’s Department has been seeking 32-year-old Michael Joe Giles, who was last seen Aug. 24 walking into a wooded area after leaving a party in the old Remy area north of Roland, according to the department’s Facebook page.
Lockhart, who was on his way at about noon Monday to the site where the body was discovered, said more details would become available later.
