A Jessamine County woman reported missing last month who is alive and well and is now behind bars for allegedly stealing $124,443.10 from her Lexington employer waived formal arraignment in the case Wedensday.

According to court documents, that was the day her boss at Commonwealth Inspection Bureau in Lexington noticed a company account had been drained and asked Suiter to look into it. When he arrived, the doors were locked and Suiter was gone.

Detectives say Suiter had forged 59 of the company’s checks for nearly $125,000. Police say she was caught on camera using the checks.

Suiter is now charged with three counts of theft by deception.

Suiter did not enter a plea, and was assigned a public defender. She will appear in court next on September 20.
