Police arrested a Shelby County escapee in Florida over the weekend.
According to jail records, officers picked up Andrew J. Wilson, 22, in Pinellas Park, Florida, on Saturday.
Authorities say Wilson was on work release in Shelby County back on Dec. 9 when he stole a car and took off. Police say Wilson ditched the stolen vehicle in Anderson County.

Wilson was serving time for burglary and related charges. Apparently unaware of the escape at the time, the parole board granted Wilson parole the day after the escape. Now he faces an escape charge from Shelby County. Police also charged Wilson with retail theft and giving a false name to an officer in Florida, according to information on the Pinellas County jail website.
