Arson Investigation Lexington Man Indicted in Fire that Injured Firefighter

A Lexington man has been indicted on arson charges after police say he set fire to a home with his wife inside.

According to court documents, 47-year-old Charles Goldsberry was seen crawling under the porch of a home on East Second Street just minutes before the house burst into flames on Dec. 26, 2013.

Two people were inside, including his wife. Both got out safely.

Goldsberry was arrested a couple of days later and charged with arson.

A Lexington firefighter was hurt while putting out the flames. Fire officials said debris struck Jeremy Bruner, who was taken to UK Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was diagnosed with potential cracked or fractured ribs.
