The son of a Louisville man who was beaten to death when he apparently walked in on a burglary over the weekend said his father died over some change.
Philip Schulz, 63, was pronounced dead Saturday just before 9 p.m. at the University of Louisville Hospital. Police say Schulz was badly beaten with a hard object Friday morning at Packaging Unlimited on West Kentucky Street. Investigators say he apparently walked in on people who had broken into the building.

His son, John Schulz, says he believes the burglars were after money from the vending machines.
“The place makes boxes,” John Schulz said. “My dad lost his life over nickels, quarters and a couple dollar bills.”
Police continue to search for the suspects. They say the surveillance cameras inside the building were not working, but officers did obtain footage from a building across the street.
