A man pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from the murder of Vince Happy earlier this year.
Jayronn Nickerson, 22, is charged with gunning down Happy in a parking lot of a strip mall back on Feb. 9.
Police found Vincenzo Happy in his car, badly wounded in a parking lot along Lima Drive, where they say they also found 10-12 shell casings on the ground. He was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where he later died.

On Feb. 13, Lexington police had obtained a murder warrant for Nickerson in connection with the shooting.
Police worked with the US Marshall’s office in Michigan to find Nickerson in Detroit. The 22-year-old was arrested and charged with murder.
He is due back in court on Aug. 10.
