Wrongful Death Man Pleads Not Guilty in Fatal DUI That Killed Elizabethtown Teen

The man accused of a deadly DUI crash in Hardin County entered a not guilty plea in court Wednesday.

According to the News-Enterprise, Michael Hilton pleaded not guilty to murder and DUI in connection with a fatal crash in June that killed Elizabethtown teen Brianna Taylor.

Police say Hilton was driving when he hit a car driven by Brianna Taylor, killing her. Taylor’s passenger was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, along with Hilton and his twin brother, who was a passenger in his car.

Investigators say beer cans were found scattered around the wreckage.

The News-Enterprise reported in July that Hilton had also been indicted in connection with another case: a methamphetamine ring. His new charges include trafficking, criminal syndication and engaging in organized crime. In 2006, Hilton was sentenced to three years in prison for repeated DUI offenses.

Hilton will be back in court for the latest charges in September.

Brianna Taylor’s brother, David Brice Taylor, was in a medically induced coma following brain surgery, after he hit a deer and rolled his 4-wheeler just days after his sister died.

Several businesses in the community decided to donate a portion of their profits and collect donations to help with funeral expenses for the family who had both children involved in tragic accidents.

Community members also gathered at a church in support of Brice’s recovery.
