Connecticut State Police are searching for a missing man in Northfield, a community off Route 8 that is slightly north of Waterbury.
Troopers at Troop L in Litchfield received a report on Wednesday evening that a person was missing from his residence at 20 Newton Road in Northfield, which is a village within the town of Litchfield. It is close to Thomaston.
Troopers responded to the private residence to initiate an investigation into this incident at about 9 p.m. on Aug. 6. Troopers determined that Stephen Cybulski, 51, had been working in an area between his yard and a pond across the street from his house.
He was last seen in the yard at about 5 p.m. Family attempted to locate him without success, and then called State Police.
Cybulski is described as a white male, 5-feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds, salt-and-pepper hair, with a tattoo of tiger on his right arm. He was last seen wearing shorts, no shirt and gray work boots.
K-9 teams and dive team involved
State Police K-9 teams and other troopers began searching the area at 2:30 a.m. with negative results. The search then continued at dawn today.
The State Police Emergency Services Unit’s dive team is searching the pond near the residence, and State Police K-9 teams continue to comb the area for Cybulski.
