Wrongful Death Phoenix Police Trying to ID Suspects

Police are trying to identify two persons of interest in connection with the killing of a couple at a west Phoenix home.

Phoenix police released composite sketches of two men Wednesday in the apparent double homicide of 64-year-old Barbara Singer and 81-year-old William Singer. They were found dead in their home near 35th Avenue and Bell Road on July 2.

A neighbor reported that a man claiming to be with a local cable company had knocked on his door in the days prior to the homicide. The man reportedly told the resident he needed to enter the home to reset the cable box and fix an outage in the area.

When the resident asked the man for identification, the man was unable to provide it but still insisted on entering the home. The resident said he only had Internet with that company and denied entry.

The resident initially saw only one man but observed a second person standing against the home when he looked out the window.

One person of interest is described as a 5-foot-7 white man weighing about 160 pounds. He had short dark hair, a light mustache and an unshaven face.

The other individual is described as a white or Hispanic man, 6 feet tall, about 210 pounds and muscular. He had short dark hair.

Anyone who can identify these men is asked to contact Phoenix police.
