Car thieves strike again in a Lexington neighborhood, only this time they stole somethings that many of us could never imagine taking – bibles.
Unfortunately, it’s not the first time the Falins fell victim to a car break in. In fact, they say they don’t even lock their car doors to avoid repairing the damage left behind.
It was early Sunday morning when the Falins were on their way to church as they do every weekend when they realized something irreplaceable went missing.
“They didn’t take anything we could see, maybe a couple of CD’s, but this time they took our bibles,” said Lynda Falin.

Lynda Falin says her husband’s bible is more than 40-years old and for her birthday, he had given her one too and written a special scripture inside.
The last time their car was broken into, the thieves ripped off the door and stole only change. Lynda thinks this time they mistook the bibles as electronics, and while the bibles may not be worth much to someone else, they’re invaluable to the family.
Lynda says whoever stole them needs to make it right.
“I hope you read them because maybe you’re lost and need to be saved, and maybe that bible is going to tell you how to. We are not wanting to prosecute, we just want our bibles back,” she said.
The Falins are missing two bibles. One is in a red case and the other in a black case. If you have any information on what happened to their books, please give LEX 18 a call.
