Private Detective: Boone County Deputies Arrest Hatchet Wielding Suspect

Deputies in Boone County arrested a masked, hatchet-wielding teen accused of breaking into a McDonald’s and threatening employees early Sunday morning.

Deputies say Blake Myers, 19, broke into the McDonald’s on Centennial Circle in Burlington around 4:30 a.m. Deputies say he tried to break into the safe, and then threatened employees with a hatchet as they arrived for work until they opened the safe for him. According to a sheriff’s office spokesperson, employees called 911 as they fled the restaurant while Myers took money from the safe.

Officials say a deputy was nearby doing paperwork. Deputies surrounded the McDonald’s and took Myers into custody as he exited the restaurant.

Deputies charged Myers with robbery and burglary.

Investigators say Myers was a former employee at the McDonald’s. Deputies say he remained silent and gestured with the hatchet to communicate during the crime so his former co-workers wouldn’t recognize his voice.
