Identity Theft Pair Sentenced in West Palm Beach

A Riviera Beach man and a Lake Worth woman who worked at TD Bank were sentenced Thursday in federal court for stealing the identities of seven people and using them to swipe their tax refund checks by setting up fake bank accounts.

Ryan Francis, 27, was sentenced to 57 months — nearly five years — in prison. His accomplice, Tanisha Francis, 32, who is no relation, was handed a three-year, six-month term.

Both pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft and theft of government money in connection with what federal agents said was a roughly $70,000 scheme. Both were given 60 days to get their affairs in order before beginning to serve their sentences.
