Pedophile Tracking D.C. Man Gets 11 Year Sentence

A D.C. man arrested and charged with counts of child pornography and child sexual abuse was sentenced today to 11 years and three months in prison.

According to a release, 22-year-old Cristian Gutierrez was arrested on August 16 2013, after a search of his residence uncovered “more than 700 videos and more than 100 images depicting child pornography on the laptop and other electronic storage devices.” Though Gutierrez originally denied owning child pornography, he later admitted to downloading the files.

An investigation pursuant to the search led detectives to discover that, on top of possessing child pornography, Gutierrez had sexually abused two 12-year-old boys between April and August of 2013.

Gutierrez pled guilty to one count of possession of child pornography and two counts of second-degree child sexual abuse in June of this year. In addition to his prison sentence, he’ll be placed on 15 years of supervised release with computer and Internet limitations, and register as a sex offender for at least 25 years.
