Fraud Investigation Man Charged in Fraud Case Involving More Than $1M

Lexington police have charged a man in a fraud case involving more than $1 million dollars.

Detectives say they started investigating a company called Retire America earlier this month after the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office passed along a tip. Police say the victim reported losing more than $1.3 million.

Investigators say Kenneth Thomas, 66, accepted money from the victim, but never invested the funds. Officials say detectives discovered other victims during the investigation.

Police charged Thomas with theft by deception and securities fraud.
