Private Detective: Woman Shot in Louisville Standoff Dies

Police say a woman who was shot during a standoff in Louisville Wednesday has died.

Police say the seven hour standoff started around 4 p.m. when officers went to serve a warrant on the woman for probation violation at a home on Roaming Plains Court in the Okolona area. Officers say the woman refused to come out, and told them she had a gun and her son inside with her.

Police called in the SWAT team and a hostage negotiator. Police say after negotiations failed to end the standoff, four officers entered the home around 11 p.m. and at least one of the officers fired at the woman when she pointed a gun at them.

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died.

The baby was not hurt and is now with his father.

Officials have not released the woman’s name.
