Wrongful Death Man Pleads Guilty to Killing Great Grandma With Hammer

A man accused of killing his great grandmother with a hammer in Madison County faces decades in prison.

According to court documents, William Tribble, 24, confessed to murdering Margie Tribble, 78. She was found beaten to death in her home in July 2008. She died the next day. Tribble pleaded guilty in court Wednesday.

Prosecutors recommend Tribble serve 35 years in prison, with eligibility for parole after 20 years.

Tribble’s sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 24.
