Police and worried family members are seeking the public’s help in finding 15-year-old Whittier boy who’s been missing since Thursday.
Robert “R.J.” Guzman Jr. told his father and step-mother via a text message that he was at Whittier High School just before 7 a.m. Thursday, but his father, Robert Guzman Sr., said he later learned his son never arrived at school after leaving home in Uptown Whittier.
The teen has not been seen since, and he had not answered his cell phone, the father said. Gomez Jr. has never gone missing in the past.

The father said he did not know whether his son had run away, or if something may have happened to him.
“I just want to get my son back,” Guzman Sr. said.
Guzman Sr. and his son had a discussion regarding grades at school Wednesday, but the Guzman Jr. did not appear upset.
The young man told his father he wanted to go stay with his mother, and they agreed to discuss it further before the weekend.
Guzman Jr. is Latino, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 112 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a scar on his left eyelid, and small moles his right cheek and the right side of his chin. Anyone with information can reach Whittier police at 562-567-9200.
