Accident Reconstruction Fatal KY Speedway Crash Investigated

A month after a man was killed at the Kentucky Speedway his family still has no answers and now prosecutors are pressing the Gallatin County sheriff’s office to open the case.

Last month, 30-year-old Cox was driving a race car at the “Rusty Wallace Racing Experience” around the track in Sparta alone when he crashed into a wall.

Track officials say there’s no video available because Cox didn’t buy that feature of the experience. That answer is not good enough for Cox’s family whose attorney, Gary Leppla, is speaking out on their behalf.

“We understand the car was quickly removed from the scene and we understand the vehicle is in R.I. now,” said Leppla. “People talk about suits and litigation. We don’t know what this will come to, but you’ve got a family that’s devastated and they deserve the right to answers.”

The family’s attorney is asking anyone with video or pictures of what they saw to come forward.

The Gallatin County sheriff’s office is now looking into the incident a month after the crash.
