Police arrested a man who they say burglarized several homes in a Lexington neighborhood, and came to find out that man wasn’t supposed to be out of his home in the first place.

Several homes in the Winter Garden area have been burglarized lately. Just Thursday morning, police say three homes were broken into and they believe jewelry, electronics and money were taken.

A one of the homes, police say they found a broken window, but no suspect. They soon caught up with 18-year-old James Kiragu who was walking along a road nearby.

He took offand was eventually caught. Police say Kiragu wasn’t supposed to leave his home; he had a monitoring device connected to his ankle, which he removed.

“We haven’t lived here that long and it’s already getting crazy,” said Destinie Cameron. “We thought it was going to be a good neighborhood, that’s why we came over here.”

Cameron’s mother , Mimi Craig, isn’t happy to hear the news either.

“Living alone with children it’s scary. But by the grace of God, we do have an alarm on the house,” she said. “It’s a blessing get him out of here. We don’t need that trouble over here, it’s a quiet neighborhood.”

Kiragu is now facing several charges including burglary and tampering with the monitoring device.
