A Danville business owner is facing an attempted murder charge after a shooting at his shop late Friday night.
We’re told officers & deputies were called to Jerry’s Body Shop, located on Roy Arnold Boulevard just off of US-127, around 11 p.m. for a report of gunshots. Danville Police tell us they found the owner, Jerry Mathes, and Ricky Cole in the middle of a fight. Officers say they took a .357 magnum revolver from Mathes, separated the two and noticed Cole had been shot once in the abdomen.

Rescue workers flew Cole to UK Hospital. There are no updates yet on his condition.
As for the motive, investigators tell us that an argument between the two men over work on a vehicle escalated to violence.
Officials say that as they arrested Mathes, they found a small packet of cocaine on him. He’s being held in the Boyle County Detention Center for attempted murder, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
