Fraud Investigation 4 Indicted By Grand Jury in Fraud Case

A grand jury has indicted four people in relation to a fraud case involving the Lexington business Retire America.

Detectives say they started investigating the company earlier this month after the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office passed along a tip. Police say the victim reported losing more than $1.3 million.

The Fayette County Grand Jury has indicted Kenneth Eugene Thomas on charges of theft by unlawful taking over $10,000, five counts of theft by failure to make required disposition over $10,000, four counts of theft by failure to make required disposition over $300, and one count of fraudulent practices.

All of Thomas’ charges are a Class C or D Felony.

Shannon Kay Hurst, Phillips J. Ash, and Roy Myers were all indicted on lesser charges related to the case.
