Missing Person Amber Alert for 2.5 Year Old Searcy, AR Boy

Authorities in Searcy issued a statewide alert early Monday for Malik Drummond, an autistic two-and-a-half year old child who disappeared from his home about 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

A massive search is under way in the Searcy area for Malik, who is believed to have wandered from his home in the 700 block of West Park Avenue. His parents told lawmen that they last saw Malik in the bedroom of their home.

Malik is described as a black male child, 3 feet tall and weighing 40 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He has a light complexion.

He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and brown pants with strips.

People with information about Malik’s whereabouts may contact Lt Steve Taylor at the Searcy Police Department, 501-268-3531.

Search dogs were brought in to assist with the hunt. Law enforcement, family members and volunteers were going door-to-door, and searched play areas, ditches, cars, houses and other locations.

The Level 2 Morgan Nick Amber Alert was issued to widely disseminate via email Malik’s photograph and physical description. A Level 2 differs from a Level 1 alert mostly in that the statewide emergency alert system isn’t activated. A statewide EAS alert would interrupt television broadcasts and also use other means to inform the public about a missing person.
