The transportation company whose bus driver was arrested and charged with DUI says that their employee was suffering from a medical emergency rather than intoxication.
Police pulled over the bus and arrested 46-year-old Holly Brown for DUI and wanton endangerment second degree. An off-duty Anderson County Sheriff’s deputy called in the charter bus Sunday after seeing the bus traveling down the Bluegrass Parkway in Washington County.
Brown was transporting 41 students and nine adult chaperones from Elliot County on a field trip in Louisiana for a Future Business Leaders of America event.

Miller Transportation has released a statement on the incident containing the following statement:
“Based on our internal investigation, Miller Transportation believes the driver’s condition Sunday was the result of a personal medical issue which did not involve alcohol or any illegal controlled substance. We also believe there is the possibility the charges may be dropped or lessened once the driver’s lab results are finalized in five-to-six weeks.
The students and chaperones arrived safely home three hours after the arrest.
