A Nassau County man was sentenced Monday to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to a list of child sex charges for repeatedly molesting at least two children, authorities said.
Jeremiah Donald Potter, 32, pleaded guilty to seven counts of custodial sexual battery, three counts of lewd or lascivious battery and a lone count of possession of child pornography, according to a news release from the State Attorney’s Office for Florida’s Fourth Circuit.
Potter, who was also ordered to undergo lifetime sex offender probation, was labeled a dangerous sexual felony offender as part of his sentence, prosecutors said.

One of the victims, now 13 years old, came forward in May of 2014 and told her father that Potter had been abusing her, according to the State Attorney’s Office. Investigators found that Potter had allegedly forced the child to perform sexual acts with him several times in 2012.
That victim also identified a second victim, now 11 years old, who told investigators that Potter had abused her from June 2007 through June 2014, prosecutors said.
