Private Detective:Two Arrested in Lexington Hotel After Alleged Domestic Dispute

Two people have been arrested after a domestic dispute led to gun charges.

Police were called to the Courtyard Marriott on Newtown Court Thursday afternoon after maids at the hotel reported a man and woman arguing. They told police that the man had threatened the woman with a gun.

Police searched the hotel room the two guests were registered in and found a gun and bullets.

Police arrested Joseph McDowell and Sheila Ayers. McDowell was charged with felony possession of a handgun and resisting arrest. Ayers is also charged with felony possession of a handgun, possession of a controlled substance and giving a false name to an officer.

Ayers also had a warrant for a probation violation out of Northern Ky.
