Private Detective: Police Arrest Suspected Serial Burglar

A serial burglar has been arrested in Lexington accused of being responsible for breaking into several businesses.

The Circle Car Wash is just one of the businesses police say has fallen victim to a burglar who’s broken into several businesses over the last few weeks.

Lexington police arrested Justin Carpenter Wednesday and charged him with six counts of burglary. Police say Carpenter broke into storage units at two different Walmart locations – one on Nicholasville Road and one on Grey Lag Way in Hamburg.

Police say he stole more than $500 worth of merchandise. Carpenter was also found on surveillance video drilling the dead bolt off the office doors to steal money out of the machines at the Leestown Road car wash.

Court documents show Carpenter admitted to the crimes. He is expected to be arraigned Friday afternoon.
